Vivi - Kenshi Yonezu. TEARS. discovered it because of the amazing shuake animatic by cheerubi on youtube <33 it's so good GO WATCH it if it's not done yet. seriously it'll explain WAY BETTER than I can how this song fits shuake. this made me watch it again im in shambles I can't do this anymore

Until I Know - Panchiko. 1st of all it's simply an incredible song I love it so much go listen NOW if you love indie rock and pretty lyrics. now on to why I put it in this shuake playlist: "And I don't know if you're coming back" pretty self explanatory. "Take on this chance/All the parts are in place for the sun/In your heart, breeds disease and disgrace" it's just SO Akechi. he could have had other chances (joining the PT, the sun here seems like something positive, but he cultivated his anger and revenge and his own downfall instead) and on the other hand, the thing is that he couldn't take these other options that he had - nobody ever showed him how, he only ever had himself to rely on, and even this power a god gave him was only to make him a puppet in some grand plan. "how could they ever win?" something something fatality. this song also is about attachment issues (or it's at least a possible interpretation): "You got the fear of a symphysis/Firing your synapses" showing the fear of getting too close, stuck, and contradicting "You know you always need this much" -human connection? the narrator seemingly being as aware of it as the person they're talking to, if not more, and saying they "won't stop until you go". so many thoughts, but it's time to move on to another song.

Think That's Too Wise - Panchiko. alright this one is kinda more based on vibes but not entirely. "You know I'm buried in your stead/Cause maybe I'll fight your fight/But maybe I'm not built all that right/I would not witness tonight/'Cause I would not think that's too wise/To fall and to give in to fate" honestly, I can't see the word "fate" anymore and not think of shuake.

Hearts A Mess - Gotye. the atmosphere of this song I swear!! like being underwater or lost in fog. fog rather. so so good! the entire song fits shuake but especially "It makes no sense, but I'm desperate to connect" and "Love ain't fair/So there you are, my love".

Don't Say You Love Me, Before We Drown, Always You, Soul With Me, Never Let Me Go - Depeche Mode. dsylm: "You'll be the killer/I'll be the corpse [...] If you play the winner/I'll be your permanent pain [...] You'll be the promise/And I'll be the end of your dreams" I'm not crazy right. Love Love Love - Of Monsters and Men. "And these fingertips/Will never run through your skin" one thing I adore about shuake is that I truly think they had some sorts of feelings for each other (if you max Akechi at least) but never could act on it. the nature of their relationship before 11/20 didn't allow them such a thing, and after that, they didn't have time anymore. and when they did, in january, Akechi was keeping his distance because he had doubts about himself being alive. they didn't even hug on 2/2.

Via - Jay Ragsdale. a song without lyrics but trust me it's shuake coded too. and a LOT, well to me at least it is.

doomsday - Lizzy McAlpine. "I don't get a choice in the matter/Why would I? It's only the death of me" RAHHHH. what went through Akechi's head during 2/2. also the bang sound effect??? omfg. "The death of me was so quiet" every time I think about the possibility of Akechi truly dying and his missing poster in the OVA proof of justice and literally nobody but Ren caring about it, I want to throw up.

an ego thing - Lizzy McAlpine. "Guns drawn, slow down/It's a battle over something stupid/They're all the rage right now/You don't know the truth/It's a battle that I think I'm winning/Something makes me think you think that too" and the rest of the song too it's so them I'm sick

Pure Imagination - Kathleen (cover, og: Timothée Chalamet, from "Wonka"). not so shuake but just 3rd semester and Maruki. "Traveling in the world of my creation/What we'll see will defy explanation/If you want to view paradise/Simply look around and view it" !!! also the nearly horror-like sound effects at 1:30 illustrate so well the vibe of "everything is too perfect" and the very much possible horror of escapism.

Mitashiai - Kai Akala. this song is so beautiful and deserves so much more love! "Betray someone, decive someone/And incur the wrath of Enma/It's either solitude or hell/I have nothing more to lose [...] There is no lie in love/because I will love you to death/Hey, why not try drowning?" this is a song that fits a lot of my favorite ships but it fits particularly shuake.

Stalker's Tango - Autoheart. persona 5 and the stalker phantom thieves of hearts, today's subject is Goro Akechi! yes I think I'm hilarious thank you. but seriously, yusuke? makoto? akechi? I really love how the song goes from "You'll never meet another me" to "I'll never meet another you", way more desperate and honest than the previous lines in their manipulation - I also firmly think that's the kind of thing both Ren and Akechi would think about each other.

Showbiz - Muse. this is sooo Akechi yes oops most of these songs are ones I associates with Akechi, my bad. "Trying to please you for too long/Visions of greed you wallow" hello shido again. also "And forcing our darkest souls to unfold/And pushing us into self-destruction" but from a shuake perspective.

Summerboy - Lady Gaga. wouldn't necessary have put it there on my own but now that I mentionned the animatic I just can't not add it. especially "We'll still have the summer after all" has that bittersweet energy that fits so well shuake, and also love love how the animatic captured both this and the more lighthearted? vibe that they do have in their dates but also how devastating it turns after and SIMULTANEOUSLY. "Don't be sad when the sun goes down/You'll wake up and I'm not around/You've got to go" WHY AM I CRYING

Velvet Ring - Big Thief. mostly vibes tbh, but strong vibes. "Ben, he loved her like he loved no one/The way she'd laugh and hold a smoking gun/The way she always said, 'What's done is done'" that just feels so shuake :( "Love is a gentle thing/Yours is thicker than a velvet ring/A victim healer with a sharp sharp blade/Benny knew how she was getting paid"
