Memories from 2015. I was talking to someone the other day about this very photo and the story around it. I was wAlking the Lavender Federation Trail (story here https://walkingtwobytwo.com/about/lavender-federation-trail-my-personal-story/) and as I passed this incredible canola field it just laminated with the sun behind me and the dark clouds that were growing in the distance. I site I had to stop and take a picture of. At that moment out of nowhere the wind picked up, temperature dropped and a storm hit with hail, lightning and thunder. All happened in under a minute. I remember hearing later on the radio that it was a freak storm that swept through South Australia at the time. Scary but amazing I got to experience this. I always try to do positive and happy posts but I’m going to have a whinge right now. This is what I found at Hewetts hill campsite. I know it is not from the typical hiker and it will more likely be from people who don’t hike normally but really? We had to cart out what they left behind and that’s not good. I ask you all to share posts about Leave No Trace please. While it is fantastic to see more people enjoying nature they need to know that it is not acceptable to to leave their stuff behind because they are too lazy to cart it out themselves.
