The Dumas Brothelās main floor. My favorite place.
May 31st: The Dumas Brothel
Staying over with a friend who had to work early, I left their place and headed to the hotel down the road. Since I started coming to Deer Lodge I have always stayed at the same hotel, located across the street from he prison. So I drove down the street and paid 20$ to use their shower and get ready. Feeling refreshed and coffee-in-hand I made my way to the Old Montana State Prison to meet with the curator and the rest of the staff. I stopped by to talk about representing them at the Eureka Paracon - happening this June 21-24th in Eureka, NV. So we sat in the back office and told each other about our recent experiences at the prison and conversed about the last event I did in April that went a little haywire. ( But that is a whole other story. )
After the meeting, a quick walk around and all the hiās and byeās - I was out the door ready to head out of town when it dawned on me that I hadnāt even stepped foot in the prison cemetery yet. The cemetery is just to the North East just outside of the prison in a beautiful lot surrounded by mountain views. There is one prisoner that I adore more than any of the others and have actually formed - what I believe to be - a strong bond with. I conjured him in April and he stuck around with me for a week. During that time, I found out that he was a mamaās boy who moved away from his home of Cripple Creek to become quite the fan of trouble and liquor. He was one of only two to be hung by the state on the prison grounds for the murder of the deputy warden and also the assault on Warden Frank Conley. His name/alias was William Hayes. I made a promise with him in April that I would reunite him with his mother, and go to her grave in Cripple Creek, CO. So I tried to conjure him once again. Right as I started, a storm began to take brew in the skies above. The clouds surrounded the property line of graveyard like a horse shoe. The wind started to pick up and when I looked to the sky I could see the start of a funnel cloud dipping down from the dark sky almost kissing the mountains directly in front of me. As the storm inched closer and the wind started to pick up, I decided that being the only person in a graveyard in the middle of a possible tornado wouldnāt end well. So I packed everything up and extinguished the incense half-way-through. Maybe thatās what I was supposed to do all along.
Considering the fact that I only had one workable wiper ( the other wiper arm empty and covered in silver bikini panties to stop the screeching ) in the middle of a torrential downpour, I opted out of heading to Dillion and decided to try my luck in Butte, MT. This was the best possible choice I could have ever made.
In April of this year, I had a rough time during an overnight at The Dumas Brothel. I awoke suffocating, nauseous, worst headache of life, vomiting, cold sweats, no feeling in my limbs. Basically I woke up an hour before probable death from CO poisoning. Long story short I hadnāt spoke to or seen the owner Travis since than. I was scared to see him, but knew in my heart that I had to try. When I walked into the building I was instantly greeted with nothing but love. Some say the building is a dark place, but let me reassure you the carbon monoxide was a lack in human judgement and not something evil constructed by the spirits there. If anything they saved my life when they woke me up an hour before death. If you listen to the audio I recorded while sleeping you can actually hear the sound of me suffocating. You can say what you want, but I truly believe they saved me from meeting with the reaper. The last time I left the Dumas the condition was a little worse for wear. No plumbing, no heat, no electricity⦠BUT NOW, Travis has put his heart and soul into the restoration. He is doing so well and has taken it off of the market. Rachel has even come back to reopen her antique store inside. The walls have a new coat of paint and it feels the lightest it has ever felt. I have no clue why I was scared to go back.
Travis told me I was more than welcome to stay with him at the Picheās and we all agreed that home-made ice cream would be the best thing for the rainy night. We rounded up the ingredients and headed to Rachelās house where Travis made the BEST fresh ice cream I have ever had. When the food was done we went to Rachelās bedroom to smoke and that was when it happened. They told me that they wanted to give me a piece of Michael! Michael was the Dumasā owner, Travisā finance and one of my favourite people. So they took out the ashes of my dead friend and put a small amount into a cute canister for me to take with me. This was possibly the most generous and beautiful gift I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. I only knew the man for a year and a bit, but like the psychic said - we have a connection thicker than blood. Even typing this I cry happy tears at the thought of him beside me riding shotgun the whole ride long.
Never go straight, always go forward.

May 30th: Twin Bridges Orphanage
Waking up a little worse for wear and majorly hungover, in Lincoln - we continued on our journey. The bartender, Erin, told us about the Netflix Series being shot up in Lincoln, about the infamous Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski. She was an extra and had mentioned the night before that they had re-built the actual cabin. Pointing us in the direction, but not knowing exactly where - we decided to see if we could spot it. We almost found it too! Continuing along the rainy-day road, back to Deer Lodge, we passed the other hungover construction workers we had partied with the night before. At this moment a rock flew up and smashed my windshield wiper clean off my car. We pulled over and exchanged the passenger wiper for the drivers side. The squeaking of the vacant wiper arm made the most unbearable screeching sound, so I MacGyverād my panties around the arm and we were off (pink La Senza tag flapping in the wind). Dlynda and Tammy are from Dillon, MT - which is close to a town called Twin Bridges. Just outside the town is an old haunted Orphanage that they had always wanted to check out, but had never had the chance to see. Although there was the question of - if we would actually be allowed on the property - we decided to take the chance. So with my panties on my windshield we were off! Driving into the large property gates we were in awe as multiple decrepit buildings welcomed us. A man named Dwayne was nice enough to point us in the direction of the owner, who was at the Blue Anchor bar in town. We drove to the bar and asked where she was, but the bartender had told us we had just missed her. After a Bud and some shake-a-dayās ( a dice game played in the States for progressive $ pots or drinks - depending on how many you can get of the same number - kinda like Yahtzee ) we went back to the orphanage. I walked up to the owners house and was met by Leslie Adams. I told her where I had come from, what I was doing on my trip and that my friends from Dillon pointed me in her direction. She told us we were welcome to walk around and we were actually allowed to enter two of the more solid structures. I couldnāt believe our luck!!! Walking around the property you can feel the eyes on you from every looming structure. About halfway through the tour a giant thunderstorm drifted into the grounds. Lightning and thunder set the creepy scene, as we explored the old dorm buildings - you couldnāt have created a more perfect time to be in the old orphanage if you tried. Itās moments like these that prove to me Iām on the right path. This is what Iām meant to do. Itās pretty clear now.... Tammy and Dlynda had decided to wander over to the second dorm, but I wasnāt done in the other one yet. Alone and separated from the others I ventured upstairs into weird dark room with no windows. The roof beams were all exposed - as the roomās ceiling was missing and as I panned up I was grabbed by something I caught on video. I also had some electrical interference while filming, but that could have been from the storm. One of the buildings we couldnāt go in had a broken window and as I shouted in, āWhoās there?ā A man answered back with the EVP, āA broken man.ā Once the storm had passed we hopped into the car and we drove back to Butte to drop off Tammy and Dlynda - after all I had a karaoke date with destiny in Deer Lodge.
Meet the one and only Evel Knievel!
May 29th: The Lincoln Hotel
I had to leave Calgary early to motor down to Helena, MTās campus. I was meeting a local Montana Historian, Ellen Baumler, for lunch. Although we have been talking for the last couple weeks - this was our first meeting. Ellen, very generously, took me for lunch at a local cafe. She convinced me to order her favorite item - sweet tea & a salad with blue cheese āMERICAā, chicken and cherries. It was a strangely tasty combo. I first contacted Ellen in April, after my shocking trip down to Montana, where I almost died in a haunted brothel, from CO poisoning - and was also attacked by a medium that we had brought down with us for an event at Old Montana State Prison. I had become close with the spirit of William Hayes and she was helping me to find more info about him. After lunch Ellen took me over to an older part of Helena - where the old miners used to live. She wanted to test my intuition. I donāt ever claim to be a psychic, but have been told that I am a powerful medium. We walked up the street and instantly I could feel the presence of prostitution - so I mentioned it and Ellen pointed behind me, āThatās the brothel there.ā
We walked further up the street and she pointed one of the old buildings and started to talk about the man whom had resided there. At that moment, I felt like something had struck my frontal lobe. I mentioned to her that I believed the man had died from a head trauma. She concurred and I added, āFrom an accident, right?ā She said, āYES!ā and I was blown away! We went to another structure at the top of the road, but I didnāt pick up on too much up there. The last couple structures she took me to were two cabins that were adjoined. As we came through the back I started to question the structure of the building and the locations of the doors. She mentioned that yes, the front door was not the actual door, and that the cabin used to be two structure that they had connected after the fact. My Ghost Radar AP ( a word data base that spirits can manipulate - I have tested it and over the course of my experiences - I believe it to be an accurate tool ) mentioned the name GEORGE. Ellen turned to me and said, āthat was the name of the man who had lived there.ā At that moment I felt an icy band reach across the top-right-side of my head, and my face slumped. So, I asked if he had died from a stroke and she confirmed that! She asked what else I felt and I told her I could hear a child crying in the distance. I felt sick and said, āPerhaps the child had died from a fever/sickness.ā Thatās when she confirmed that the neighboring cabin had a 10-year-old girl that had died from measles. At this point I was yelling āShut up!ā completely surprised at how much I had picked up on. Like I said before - I donāt really consider myself anything but an empath. Impressed with my intuition, Ellen drove us back to the campus and took me inside the Montana Historical Society to give me one of her many books! I was beaming and gave her my thanks and we made plans to meet again in the near future!Ā ---- While writing this I just had a huge deja vu ---- Holy crap! Weird!---- The next stop was Butte, MT to pick up friends that I had met from the last event I put on at the prison. Dlynda and Tammy were waiting patiently at the Walmart for me and we all hopped in one car to make our way towards Lincoln, MT. But first, how could I resist the temptation to see Evel Knievelās grave? He was located right across the street in the Mountain View Cemetery. Adorned with all things āMerica the daredevilās headstone sat in the front row with a large bottle of Jack and two shot glasses. Picture perfect. The drive to Lincoln was a beauty, as it always is. The 200 is my favorite Montana highway - so far. It twists and turns through the forest right below our Crowsnest Pass and is breathtaking! Take this road people! I have been going to the Lincoln Hotel now for at least a year. The first time I stumbled upon the log hotel, was the day the owners had purchased the hotel. I have had the pleasure of investigating the whole thing prior, and knew it would be a great place to kick back, on the first day of my trip. The bartender Erin was there and met me with open arms. We took room 21 and commenced the party. Some people might argue about this, but I believe itās a good thing to have at least a couple drinks in your system before you go investigating. Iām not saying GET WASTED - bad idea, but a couple drinks makes me more open and loose. Same way I would deal with a blind date really. One prevalent character Lincoln has to offer is a man by the name of Prospector Bob. Heās always around and has the voice of Sam Elliot - we all agreed. We all headed out to the fire and Bob told us old mining tales. Sometimes he would forget where he was going with the story and fill in his blanks with laughable āARRRRRās. I love the man and canāt wait to go hounding with him next time. A few local construction workers joined us and we all got our drink on in the beautiful backyard of the Hotel. We were having so much fun, we almost forgot to investigate! Although, I did see a shadow peak around from the kitchen to the bar - which Erin confirmed is an occurrence that frequently happens to the owner, Roy. The night was quiet. Quite perfect. If you have never been to the old Lincoln Log Cabin - make sure to make the trip. If anything you might stumble across the old prospector for a tale and a Bud.
Hey guys! So I got invited to co-host a spooooooky event down in Utah at Leslie's Family Tree - Saturday, June 2nd. There are limited tickets. I know pretty much no one in Utah, but it's worth the drive! They say that it's home to 100 spirits. I can't wait to meet them all. Thanks to Paranormal Disorder and The Tree for letting me join in on all the fun! #yycghosthunt #paranormaldisorder #lesliesfamilytree #paranormal #walkinaftermidnite
Yesterday. I found out from your Mother that you were gone. I haven't really stopped crying since. I can't believe it - mainly because we were talking only days before. Your mom said that the service was nice - I'm sorry I was not there. I should have been.
You should know that I have never been more hellbent obsessive about meeting someone. I came to that building and sat on the steps and waited time and time again, not to get in, but to meet you. When we finally did meet, we hit it off instantly. I came back and took you for dinner and we went back to the Dumas and stayed the night. I felt so special to be in there with you all night. You tucked me into the bed in Room 7 and you fell asleep in your office sitting upright and wrapped in a blanket like some weird vampire.
A week later Ghost Adventures filmed there. I couldn't believe that they were so scared, considering we had been laughing and walking around in the dark with a beer in each hand, with no need for a flashlight. The place always felt like home to me - loving, kind and comfortable. Nothing like the TV depicted so dishonestly. You called me soooo upset at all the people talking about you and making their assumptions. I said "fuck em, I know who you really are."
You were so trusting of me right off the bat. You let me come back with friends and you never charged me a penny when I stayed there that whole weekend in May by myself. Your kind and trusting nature was comparable to few. You are one in a million and I'm sure I will see you again - because as we discussed on numerous occasions we have known each other for many lives.
I can feel you around... you know what I do and if you want to say, "Hi", I would love to see you. The world lost someone beautiful. A real gem. You will always be a huge part of my stories and you will live on in my thoughts. I can't believe you're gone. I love you Michael Piche and always will.

Shot taken from Paracon @ The Globe Theater - where I got the awesome opportunity to show some of my EVPās to the audience. The Globe itself is said to be haunted. Canāt you tell by the look on my co-presenter, Debi Watsonās face? Ha.Ā
Iām baaaaaaack!
So itās that time of year again - where the leaves are dying and everything smells perfect - itās Halloween! Which means itās time to go back, to my little slice of heaven - Virginia CIty, Nevada. I will be blogging each day about my experiences in Western USAās most haunted mining town. I will be investigating as many places as I can muster in my 5 days and will be staying at The Silver Queen - Rm 11, by far the scariest room I have ever slept in - for two nights. Over the last few months I have been working very meticulously and now have an insanely large collection of EVPās and related audio evidence. I only have a few more investigations to go over and once thatās done I will be putting my INSANE collection of spirit voices and photography for everyone to see/hear. The process of going over audio is quite long-winded when you work alone, but patience is everything... I canāt wait for you all to see the stuff I have been working on. Fingers crossed I get everything up for Halloween.

June 11th: The Mizpah Hotel
The day was pretty uneventful. It was my last chance to get some laundry done and figure out where I would be driving on the 12th. The internet has been down for days and today was no different. After getting all my ducks in a row I decided to take the time to make my goodbyes to all my Goldfield family. Stopping into Malek and Jodyās store I told them to meet me in Tonopah for dinner - as I had rented a room at The Mizpah Hotel. I tried to say goodbye to the others at the bar, but towns like those tend to close shop early on weekends. As I left a storm began to brew up behind me. Black clouds and claps of thunder ran with me all the way to Tonopah. At one point I actually saw one single bolt of lightning strike the ground about 500m away from my car. āØ
Unreal.āØ
Since I had stopped into The Mizpah earlier that week, the bartender Michelle was quick to greet me and following me to the front check in she let the other employees know of my purpose for staying. The lady at the front desk also recalled me from the last time I had stayed at the hotel - about two years prior. Thatās the desert for you - many people donāt forget a mug like mine. Ā My room 502 was ready and so was I, for a much needed shower. Staying in The Mizpah is staying with royalty. The owners put such car and consideration into the remodelling. You sleep on beds of perfection and they shower has a view form the 5th floor of the whole damn town.
Once I was ready I headed back down to the bar and met up with my Goldfield family so I could say thank you with a meal in the Mizpahās restaurant. Ā After the meal everyone was curious about the rooms and the ghosts so I took them for a mini-tour of every floor. Once again solidifying Malekās opinion that I would be a great candidate for local ghost tours - which is always such a compliment. When you go to places like these in hopes of catching something paranormal itās always a great idea to read up on the history and beyond any story you could fabricate the history speaks for itself. Iāll never be a woman of fiction as long as there are tales of old mining town and outlaws. Real lifeās history has always had me captivated.
Once everyone was fed and we all bid our sad farewells I claimed my seat at the bar and started to strike up conversations with anyone in my vicinity. The couple to the left of me were very intrigued by my trip. They were retired police officers down from Reno to sort out some family business, not only that, they were ghost hunters as well. Since they had mentioned Reno I started to speak of my love for Virginia City just on the other side of Mount Davidson. They invited me to come to their home in Reno before off to Spokane for a BBQ and some homemade moonshine! You best believe Iām going to be taking them up on that offer! They retired for the evening after we split some chocolate cake and Jamesonās - something they told me I had to try. Just like the desert, the night was too rich.
Finally I payed my tab and headed upstairs for some investigating in Room 502 and the rest of the 5th floor. Rumour has it that this was the site of a grizzly murder. Back during the mining boom it was said that a lady was murdered by her jealous lover just outside Room 502 in the hallway. He walked in and found that she was taking clients for sex and he was said to have stabbed and strangled her to death. Activity was light, but I have yet to go through the audio. I did see something white float out of the bathroom door and into my room. There were also some cleaver responses on the K2 and some photos that are pretty hard to explain. One I caught sitting on the old sofa as a black mass formed on the rocking chair beside me. The photo shows this mass clearly with a red blur closer to the ceiling that canāt be found in any other photos. When you zoom into the mirror of the photo - Ā a clear face of a lady can be seen in white facing me, with hair done up! The Mizpah never disappoints.
June 10th: Home Sweet Home
Goldfield has always held a special place in my heart. So it really wasnāt a big deal with David Oman refunded my money for June 11th at The Oman House. David offered me a private tour for a shortened visit on the house, but driving to LA can be a costly affair so I decided to stay in my favorite state for just a little longer. The morning was dictated by a mission and after breakfast I was off.
Last year, I was very blessed to meet someone who changed my whole outlook on life, the one and only Virginia Ridgeway. Known for her work with Nevada tourism and also as the retired caretaker and key holder of the Goldfield Hotel - Virginia really was the catalyst in me turning my life around. Getting out of an emotionally abusive relationship I had lost myself in the process. In a few short moments this little angel had helped me to see my self worth again and ever since then I have made sure to keep in touch.
I walked the short couple blocks to Virginiaās front door and was greeted by an ear-to-ear smile and wide eyes. Although she had recently had a stroke, she knew exactly who was at her door step. We sat down outside in the sun and talked for about an hour. She seemed to be in good spirits even though she was in pain from her bad hips. She told me that she was doing well and would soon be selling the home and moving to Reno to live in a home. We spoke about spirituality, the hotel and her lives work.
āMost of the people I know are now dead. How many people can say they have done everything they wanted to do in there life? I have no regrets. There is nothing I would change,ā she said. āYou look to be in better spirits. I remember when I met you last year. You were so sad. Iām happy that you are doing better.ā
Those couple hours last year in the hotel will always be my most cherished memory. I always wonder if she knew she saved my life. I really do owe her everything. I donāt know where I would be if that had never happened. Virginia got tired quickly and needed to rest, so after I helped her inside and distracted her kitty with some treats as I made my escape to The Hoist House.
Kitty-corner to the Goldfield Hotel lies a great little saloon called The Hoist House. This is where you can find great staff, cold beer, the worlds best pizza and some amazing folks. One regular, Todd, can be found sitting at the end of the bar almost every afternoon. Most days he sits and drinks his beer with his loyal dog and best friend. He is one of my favorite people in the town! Every time we see each other his eyes light up behind those thick glasses and he pulls me in for a big hug. This town is always so welcoming and truly feels like my home away home.
The highway up towards Tonopah was being redone and this brought in a slew of construction workers. Joe was one of them from Lovelock, Nevada. Sitting to my right in a Hard Rock Cafe shirt and dirty jeans me and Joe shot back Serpent Whiskey and beers over some light conversation. He asked if I had ever seen the car graveyard on the outskirts of town. I had not. We decided to hit the road, but not before I gave Todd all my love and grabbed some drinks for the road.
It was nearly sundown and the sky was painted with every color the desert had to offer by the time we reached the car yard. Busās, limos and cars were littered around the hills and covered with graffiti. With beers in hand we began to explore the landscape and pretty soon it was dark.
