could i ask what state the leak was in? like did it have full audio and english lines and finished scenes? i ask because it seems like there’s a huuge disparity between opinions from the leak vs movie crowds and i wonder if there’s some context or nuance that comes across in the released version or if it’s just that divisive.

The leak was the full finished episode in Portuguese. I watched a version with English subtitles that seems fairly accurate with only a few obviously wrong translations

I haven’t watched in English myself yet, haven’t found a complete recording anywhere, but I’ve heard from those who watched both that the popular English translation spread around was very accurate

I think it just comes down to the fans who went to watch in theaters opening weekend being like the HUGE fans who’s special interest is tadc. If something is your special interest AND your seeing it early in theaters it’ll influences how you feel about it for a while. You’re way more likely to praise it blindly before it what you watched fully sets in (speaking from experience)

I genuinely wonder if gooseworx just straight up changed the story of the show after episode 4. I mean probably not THAT drastically but the fact that she mentioned herself that she went back to 5-9 and changed the scripts makes me wonder how much of all that was last minute additions

#the show does get a different vibe after 4 #like 5 and 6 are great episodes don’t get me wrong #but that’s where the shift starts #where things start to go downhill

It makes me sad that gangle didn’t get to live her dream and make that manga inspired web comic. I took what caine said about her irl counterpart as she entered the circus right after/right before attempting suicide and knowing she entered at her lowest point is devastating. Like I know she eventually heals in the circus bc she has a support system now but not until after the YEARS of constant abuse from jax that has left her even more traumatized. She didn’t get to quit her awful fast food job and make Love 2 GoGo :((((

I don’t know why this is making me so sad rn but it is I am on the verge of tears. The circus genuinely ruined all of their lives everyone is so happy in the real world. Kinger never got to raise his kids. Zooble didn’t get to leave their mark on the world. Ragatha didn’t get to get away from her mother. Gangle didn’t get to make her web comic. Jax didn’t get to accept herself and find support and love. Queenie and Ribbit and Kaufmo and every other abstracted member essentially committed suicide. It’s so fucking sad man.
