baby might have made a comment on max being so shy, when he wasn’t shy enough to jack off right next to him while he slept, but he figured that might ruin his chances so he stayed quiet. he’s a little disappointed in the response, but he wasn’t too surprised. “i guess so.” he expressed that disappointment easily with his tone. time to grab a pillow and hide his face behind it. it wasn’t like he was actually going to fall asleep. he really was a pervert.

   “You…….are really tall.”

      Man, did he REALLY have to prepare himself for that one; the blond’s chest puffed out and chin held high, mouth twisted into a flat frown when observing the stranger a whole foot taller than himself. It takes but a handful of seconds after he’d spoke to recognize his mistake, and that confidence bleeds away to leave the younger to deflate. Oh no.

   “I–…uh–…I mean, you’re pretty tall! I mean–no, you’re not that tall–no, you are, but, oh shit. Please stop me. It’s happening, word vomit, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry, oh my God–”

      Two hands clap over his own mouth as pale cheeks aglow with rising crimson, embarrassment biting down with its hardened fangs to prove to Daniel just what he had done wrong. Speaking without thinking was going to be his downfall, he could feel it. 

“....” How many times has he heard that one before? Max isn’t all too obvious that such a statement didn’t bother him one bit. Though as he parted his lips, ready to say something back it’s as if this individual bit their own tongue and now was a panicked mess due to the pain. 

That was kind of annoying but in all this one didn’t mean any harm to it. “...Hm okay...Is that all you wanted to say to me or do you want to panic even more to make your point?” Brown eyes stare while he waited for a reply. 

For a moment, it seems that Prospect will do something - just what remains to be seen as he weighs his options. What string of fate will he decide to pull? A fight does sound rather fun, and whether he wins or loses is of no concern - ultimately, there is no real winner in the scheme of things. They are all simply pawns to a greater being. The touch of the stranger’s hand is what ultimately makes his decision for him. It is not fear or the lack of desire to fight that has his smile turn soft and his steps back away. It is the want to see just how far this can go in the opposite direction; testing his boundaries.  “Strange, stranger, and strangest.” he speaks, “I find an admirable man who warns me twice instead of taking care of me the first time. Why is that? Why bother not acting out of defense in the first place?”

There’s a space of nothing but silence and it’s due to Max being at a lost here. Usually the third time is what sets off a type of fire within him, but for once it was only twice. There he stared wondering if holding a conversation with this being would be decent. Their speech rung a sort of odd vibe within this frowning individual, but nevertheless he would answer the questions. 

“Sometimes people are hard of hearing...So saying it again usually helps...But other times they continue to act as if they can’t hear correctly so after that...I get pissed off...But you look a bit...” he then stopped to look this male up and down before finally coming with an adjective “Frail...And I don’t see the need to harm you.” 

max didn’t push away this time. baby was grateful for that because seeing the other cry like that he wasn’t sure if he could pull away and just watch this happen. he could feel how tense max was with his hug, but once again he hadn’t tried to push baby away from him. which only caused him to hold on a bit tighter.  he didn’t expect anything back. it was fine if it was just baby hugging max like this, but he felt arms wrap around and hold him a bit closer. “max..” he wasn’t going to leave and that made baby feel a little better.he said nothing, not wanting to ruin the moment and just hugged max as tight as he would allow it. a slight pull away and he was quick to let go. “really? that’s good.. i’m glad you’re staying max.” he smiled a bit, noticing how he was still holding onto his shirt. baby reached forward to wipe away his tears a little, being gentle as possible so he didn’t upset him. “you going to be okay?”

This felt...Nice. The feeling of someone caring for his existence...It felt so...Pleasant. There he stared while tears still flow down his cheeks, and as Baby’s hand came to wipe them away he finally started to stop crying. “...I don’t know...” Max replied still lost within this warm feeling inside of his chest and his focus on this shorter male. 

She took note of how long he’d been staring, stop, and then stare again. He really seemed infatuated with this ear, surely it wasn’t that interesting or entertaining. Growing impatient, especially since her destination was a few more steps away, she huffed knowing that he had an interest in what she was trying to accomplish.

“Normally I wouldn’t ask a complete stranger ‘Do you want to help’ but do you? Of course you’d have to sign some papers in exchange to do something other than stare at it.”

well he wasn’t exactly wrong with that comment. he looked a bit disappointed when max insisted that he wasn’t allowed to watch. “c’mon, please?” he was definitely starting to pout a bit. baby was too spoiled. “i promise i’ll stay quiet and i won’t touch you if you don’t want me to,” he encouraged. “want me to pretend i fell asleep again?” he asked with a grin. now he was just being an ass.

The star couldn’t help but laugh a little at the other’s reply. It wasn’t mocking, and there was no real malice or hostility behind it. If anything, it was self deprecating. “In some cases, I suppose so, but you’d be surprised how many people use their intelligence to excuse being cruel. Especially to those they consider less than them.” Idly, he worried a longer lock of white hair between his fingers, deep blue eyes staring off for a moment. “But I must admit, if wanting to care for everyone,” especially to the point of self destruction, “is a sign of stupidity, then I truly am an idiot. Not that I much mind.” 

On the one hand, realizing he was wearing nothing and was injured had him worried. On the other hand, he was worried about Setsuka being alone for too long without him … But Setsuka was a grown woman. And she didn’t look as if she’s in a bad state, at least compared to him. “… Hold on. I’m a doctor … can I please take a look at your wounds?”

He wasn’t sure if the other man was openly mocking him, or being serious. The soft hearted part of the star actually hoped for the former, because there was just such a…tragedy to the later. “Being cruel. Being so wrapped up in your own problems or self interests that you allow yourself to become numb to the suffering of other human beings. Reaching a point where you willfully turn a blind eye to the pain others suffer. Or, perhaps worst of all, taking your own pain and deciding to spread it to others for no better reason than bitterness.”
