The cafeteria of the Cleaners base is quieter than usual. Quiet clank of dishes and silverware make a relaxing harmony. It's still rather early in the morning, sunlight peers into the barred windows of the base.

Most cleaners were out for the day or retired back to their rooms for much needed rest on the Saturday afternoon.

Amidst the quiet calm, Semiu and Corvus share drinks, a rare sight really.

"It's nice to see you from out of your office once in a while boss. We get worried sometimes you know." Semiu hums.

Corvus chuckles a little as he finishes off the rest of his drink. "Had to, I'll get cussed out if I don't."

"Aaah that's right. Forgot you're on a tight leash huh?"

"Mm... maybe. Wouldn't have it any other way though." A slight smile plays on his lips. Looking up to the clock, he begins to gather his things. "Speaking of I better start heading out now."

"And just where are you runnin' off to?" Semiu raises an amused brow.

"It's the weekend, gonna go see my lady." Corvus all but smirks, turning and making his way to the exit with a wave.

When Corvus returns home it's still rather early out. Early enough for you to still be laid in bed, clutching onto his pillow unconsciously.

He smiles freely as he steps into your shared bedroom, shedding his uniform jacket and making his way to your side of the bed. His weight sitting on the bed causes you to shift about in your sleep.

"Baby, I'm home." his hands caress the side of your face gently, hoping to coax you out of sleep.

You only groan and roll farther away from him. Bonnet sliding in the process.

"Mmcht, c'mon bae get up. You were the one telling me to wake you soon as I get back." he sighs before reaching over to readjust your bonnet back on your head. "Look at you, bonnet slidin' off 'nd everything..."

"Boy watch your mouth..." you grumble from in your pillow.

"Wakin' up just to argue with me, ain't that a damn shame." he pulls back from you with a laugh.

"Nah you just irritate me..." you shuffle to sit up, stretching a bit in the process. "When did you get back?"

"Just a second ago," the smile your granted when you finally look up at him makes your heart swell. "Now gimme a kiss. Haven't seen my lady in a week."

You return his smile as you lean into him, into his kisses and warmth. Moments like these were your favorite; sunlight, warmth, and love flooding your shared bedroom as your husband returned to you.

"Missed you Arkha.."

"I missed you more my love. Y'know I hate bein' away from you."

Your hands run up and down his arms, doing a once over his body looking for any possible new scars. Humming in content when there are none, you finally look back to his intense grey eyes. "Mmm I know baby... but the Cleaners need you. You made sure to be safe out there, right?"

" 'Course I did. If I didn't you would've put me on the porch."

You can't help but double over into his chest with laughter at that. "Damn right I would've."

"Yea yea, now c'mere." Corvus pulls you further up into his lap, needing you as close as possible. Your hands run up and down his face affectionately scanning for every detail. "Any idea what you wanna do today? You've got me all to yourself..."

A smirk plays on his lips as he leans down to kiss the side of your face, his hands beginning to lower to your ass. You ponder for a moment before something catches your eye.

"Slow down big guy," You pull back aiming to get a better look at his head. "Looks like it's about time for you to get another retwist. Should probably go ahead and wash it too."

Corvus sighs below you.

"Can't it wait until next time baby? I should be good for another week or so righ-"

"Now when's the next time you'll have a full day off and I won't be rushed to finish ya whole head?" You raise a brow as you look down at him.

With a disappointed sigh he faceplants into your chest. "Fine fine, do whatever you want ma."

"Thank you," you plant a kiss to the top of his head. "Now c'mon, lemme wash it." patting his back you slide off his lap.

" 'm comming..."

Unfortunately, you'll never be over the sight of your husband leaned over with his head in your sink. This huge man, who commands rooms, works endlessly, and leads such a dangerous life partakes in such domestic acts with you. The same domestic and mundane acts he told you he couldn't wait to experience with you when he proposed.

Shaking your head with a smile you move over to his side, shampoo and conditioner in hand. Undoing his hairstyle and allowing his locs to fall freely.

Turning the water on, you let him test the temperature with his hands and adjusting it to something comfortable for him. With his grunt of approval, you begin to drench his locs.

Humming softly as you reach for the shampoo. Hands covered in a nice layer of suds as they work into his scalp. Taking your time to scratch and massage it.

"Mmm.. feels good love..." he mumbles softly into the sink.

"Yea? Good, just lemme know if anywhere itches, okay?" you plant a kiss at the nape of his neck, making him tense quickly and relaxing back just as fast.

"Mhm.."

The silence that falls over you both is weightless. The soft kind that allows fondness to spread between it. This soft routine brings you comfort and relief. Completely and utterly at peace in your shared space.

After rinsing the shampoo out completely you begin to apply conditioner. Applying it thoroughly to his scalp and through the length of his locs. Hands working methodically in the practiced way you've done thousands of times since you met the man before you.

"M'kay baby. Gotta let this set for a bit, okay?" you explain while putting his locs up in a trash bag, wiping some conditioner off his forehead before stepping back.

Corvus sits up from the sink and stretches. Making his way over to one of the chairs of your small dinner table. He sits with a huff then looks up at you.

Watching you with a trained eye as you maneuver around the kitchen, gathering up the shampoo and conditioner setting them to the side.

"You really do have a staring problem y'know." you don't need to look back at your husband to feel his stare. Continuing to straighten up the kitchen and put things back to their rightful places.

Corvus cracks another smile at that. "What I'm not allowed to look at my wife now?"

"Looking is one thing, what you are doing sir-" you turn around to face him, catching his eyes drifting down your body. "Is eyefucking me."

Ever so shameless, he can only shrug, smirk growing wider. "So, I want my wife, sue me."

"We've got things to do sir," putting the last of the product away you sigh. "we can tend to you later."

Corvus' eyes don't falter though. A fond smile gracing his face as he continues to watch you move throughout the kitchen.

"Baby c'mere...lemme feel you. Been away for so long.." his lowered voice makes your face hot. He's being unfair, speaking to you in a way he knows you can't deny. So, you listen, plopping yourself in his lap as he rests on the chair.

His hands are quick to move up and down your hips, caressing affectionately and gently.

"There's my baby..."

"Arkha I'm not doing this with you..." you playfully roll your eyes as you lean into him.

A soft exchange of kisses flow between you both. Some quick pecks, others last much longer and leave the weight of his affection behind.

"Can't help it, missed you so much..." Your husband is quick to lean back in for kisses. This time much more passionately.

The sweet exchange quickly morphing into a needy make out. Lust slightly seeping into the edges of a moment so pure. Hands roam and soft whines slip out of each of you. But the rustle of the bag on his head pulls you out of the fantasy.

You pull back with a hand to his chest, breathing unstable due to the kisses and your quickened heart rate.

"Baby, we gotta wash the conditioner out...and I still have to finish your head..."

With a few final kisses to your nape and collar bones Corvus looks up at you.

"Okay love."

You're finally able to begin retwisting his hair after rinsing out the conditioner and drying. The process took longer than expected due to your surprise...intermission.

Corvus sits between your thighs on the floor, eyes closed and content. You work swiftly re-parting and retwisting each loc with care, a process you are more than familiar with by now. It's something you've done since your first anniversary back when you were dating.

It took a lot for him to become truly comfortable with you and with you in his space. Such is the reason you cherish these moments together. His warm body between your thighs, gracing you with his complete vulnerability and trust.

You've become his safe space and sanctuary. Allowing for a stress-free place full of love and devotion. The love between you both equal and strong.

You finish off his hair by styling it in his signature barrel twists up into a ponytail. Topping it off by running a bit of oil on his scalp between each part.

"Alright handsome, you're finished!" You lean back into the couch, giving him space to get up.

Corvus hums, running his hand across his head feeling your work. He looks back at you with a grateful smile.

"Thank you, baby. Don't know what I'd do without you."

"Probably walk around with severe newgrowth." You giggle to yourself as you look down at him.

He sighs, amused at your antics. To your surprise, he's grasping your thigh in his large hand. Planting a kiss to the inner part of it then looking back to you again.

"Be forreal for a sec. I truly don't know what I'd do without you... I love you; you know that right?"

You lean forward to him. Eyes swimming with adoration as you grasp his face.

"Of course I do... I love you too. Too much in fact..."

His eyes glace to the metal band around your finger, cold against his face. Evidence of the love that burns through you both, raging passionately and fiercely.

Corvus' eyes trail back up to your eyes before leaning in to press a sweet longing kiss on your lips.

Arkha Corvus truly did miss his wife. The wife that loves and cares for him entirely too much. The wife that he loved just the same.

Was entirely based off the song Braid My Hair (as if i haven't said that eight times) and that scene from Love Island last year when Serena was doing Kordell's hair (Aaahhh my faves)

Hope this was decent, just caught up on the manga but I'm not sure I entirely got his character right. Aimed for at least a little similarity .

This isn't a new trope or concept but i haven't seen anyone do this with this character yet so fuck it ig, lmk otherwise tho
