genuinely i think for a lot of people it's the safety in believing that if you're a certain type of person this will never ever happen to you. the belief that you are too rational or in control to develop an addiction or a severe mental health disorder. like Oh well EYE would never react like that in this situation. or Oh well EYE would never let it get that far because i have self-control. Oh well EYE am too adjusted to ever have to worry about experiencing pyschosis. etc. etc. and it's like these are all things that can happen to literally Anyone actually. you are not immune to them. you need to Stop with the mindset that you have to be a certain type of person to experience these things. because it's So easy to end up in buck's situation where you're denying that you have a problem because you have this idea of what someone with a substance abuse problem looks like and it's not you. except it is you. because it can happen to anyone.
