I don't see all the characters being victim to Slender, just a handful: Brian, Tim, and Toby. The rest I see as mostly independent actors, with occasional collaborations

For the proxies, I think the slender sickness slowly eats at their soul. I'm not a particularly spiritual person, but I think whatever makes a person alive is degraded by the sickness. So, over time, even if their physical bodies aren't degrading, you can tell something is just... wrong about them. Very uncanny valley, very "why are you so cold?"

Slender is The Devil(TM) as far as I'm concerned. I don't see him being fatherly or kind, and if he is, it's a manipulation tactic. He also doesn't keep the proxies under full force of the sickness 24/7, because it's so detrimental to their psyche. He prefers to control them through threats and manipulation. If those don't work, though, and he has a punishment in mind or something that needs to be done, he'll control them fully

The proxies are able to live relatively normal lives outside of when Slender needs them to do something, and they better comply. If they do, it's periods of normalcy earmarked with nights of extreme violence. Of course they can't live entirely normal lives, but they can have an apartment, hobbies, etc. Slender doesn't care if they date or have friends, either, but each of them has learned independently that the more people you care about, the more Slender can use against you

I see a lot of 'Tim and Brian hate Toby' but I just can't see it. My version of Toby is about my age (21), and to them, he's just a kid. Sure, he can be irritating, but it fucks them both up that a kid got roped into this. He just makes them sad, mostly, and it's made them protective of him

Jonathan and Jason will 'hunt' together sometimes, and feed off each other's negative energy. They're both narcissists who love to fight

He's a bit more social than a lot of them

Definitely is the bait whenever they need to lure someone, because of the three proxies, he's the only one who won't scare them off

Passively suicidal 100%. Definitely had a couple "you wanna shoot me? Do it" type encounters with victims

Where Tim might cover how he feels about the proxy situation with rage, and Toby might cover with apathy, Brian covers with sarcasm

Everything has to be a joke to him, because otherwise he'll feel inclined to turn his gun on himself (not that Slender would ever let him, of course)

Has a category 5 crash out when he realizes that he's not really alive anymore--and thus no longer killable--due to prolonged slender sickness

𓊔 Tim Wright 𓊔

Doesn't share Brian's suicidal ideation; has a more "i've lived through too much to give up now" kind of outlook

Still, he's not quite going to run from death, either

Probably the most determined of the three to get out from the slender sickness alive. Brian has given up, and Toby is manipulated to hell, but he's on a warpath. Ideally, he can get them out as well

Comes off as angry most of the time, but it's a defense mechanism. He doesn't want anyone getting too close, or even some girl at a bar thinking he's a good man to talk too--Slender has shown him more than once that he can take away everything in a blink of an eye

(I HC one time he almost got out, but failed, and as punishment, Slender made him slaughter the girl he was seeing. He got much more closed off after that)

Smokes like a chimney. He cracked a joke about not having to worry about lung cancer when they found out they were effectively dead, and Brian almost shot him over it

By far the most paranoid of the three. He has a shotgun he sleeps next to, and he's nearly taken Toby's head off a few times when startled awake

𓌏 Toby Rogers 𓌏

Oh, Toby. I could cry over him

For the most part, he still thinks Slender acts in his favor. He got him away from his father, even if it burned up every other aspect of his life, so shouldn't he be grateful?

He's not childish, but he can pretty naive due to just not having much life experience. I think he was, what, 17 when Slender took him in? He's never gotten the chance to be independent

Which has led him to following Tim or Brian around when he needs a place to stay. Change makes him nervous, and the whole 'being wanted on a federal level for patricide' thing doesn't help in securing a place to stay

He's gotten much better at managing his autophagia as he aged, but the CIPA conditions have only gotten worse, which is characteristic of that disorder. He knows he probably won't live to be very old, but he tries not to dwell on it

His health issues are part of why he clings to Tim and Brian so much. He's prone to seizures, which will cause injury if he's alone during them, he's developing premature cataracts, and Charcot joints will eventually be a problem. Even if he can't feel the pain in his joints, he logically knows it's there. He needs a lot of help, frequently, and it's not getting any better

Of course, Slender still has him push his body further than he should

Moving on, though, he has a pretty agreeable disposition. He has moment where his mood swings pretty aggressively, but it's gotten better as he's gotten older. Really, it mostly happens after Slender sends them on a job, or after a particularly rough day medically

Most of the time when his mood shifts, he just gets pretty quiet and apathetic, but he'll lash out if pushed

𓌜 Jeff Woods 𓌜

Contrary to popular belief, I don’t think he’s a jackass for the love of the game, but he is incredibly unbalanced

He's prone to mood swings and violent fits, with outbursts occurring more often when under emotional duress

When he's violent, it's not a result of the slender sickness like Brian, Tim, and Toby, but it's due to one of these fits

He's a proxy reject; too unpredictable

When he's having a moment, he's not really cognizant of who he's taking it out on, whether that be a friend, partner, stranger, etc...

It's a really bad cycle of him having a fit, feeling horrible about what he did, spiraling, and then that stress and emotional upset just sends him into another

He needs a very calm space to keep his head on straight (and lots of medication, but that's not quite accessible when you're a wanted felon)

𓄧 Jack Nyras 𓄧

Everyone's favorite monster man!

I really like to play up the monster side of him. Unnatural noises, joints and limbs twisting in ways they shouldn't be able to, sharp teeth, etc

He has a hard time playing nice with others. Not necessarily because he wants to be difficult, he's just been operating at such an inhuman plane of existence for so long, it's hard for him to sympathize with a creature a little more human.

Not to say he cant get along with others, it's just a frustrating experience for all parties involved

He's not indiscriminately violent. He's very choosy about his victims. Although he is an eldritch horror now, I think some of his personality retained; since he was a med student, I think he'd go after those already on their death bed, and make their deaths quick

Alternatively: 'eat the rich' :)

Will occasionally play doctor to the proxies, particularly for Toby. He tries not to make a habit of it, but the science-oriented part of him loves have something to study (poor Toby lmao)

⚒ Jason Meyer ⚒

He is so unbelievably charming at first meeting! You wouldn't ever imagine he has epoxied corpses in his attic

This is mostly canon to my knowledge, but his 'home' is a separate dimension. Where this might veer from canon is I think he can manipulate it at will. Walls move, doors disappear, etc

When I think of the dolls he makes, I imagine something very similar to House of Wax, but with resin, epoxy, porcelain, whatever. It's just liquifying gore underneath. He's not gentle, either. He'll snap bones, cut, twist, and tear at whatever he sees fit if it means making his victim perfect

That said, because it is in his dimension, I think he can keep the person's consciousness alive. I think he'd do this with his more liked victims because he wants to keep them around; or, at least, the version of them he thinks they should be. That's why he made them into a doll after all, to make them into the best versions of themselves

Flies into rages pretty often, especially when a victim first hits a point where he thinks they need to be dollified. Storming around, shattering things, cursing under his breath about who do they thing they are? Sometimes he'll break his other dolls, and if the vessel is broken, they at least get to rest in peace

He gets cripplingly lonely. Can you spell attachment issues? He's quick to go find another victim when the quiet of his home starts getting to him

𐀪 Jonathan Blake 𐀪

Zero redeeming qualities. NONE. I mean this with all the affection in my heart, he is one of my favorites, but the guy is a total prick

Still, he can be incredibly charming like Jason. Especially to his victims, who are usually vulnerable emotionally

As a poltergeist, he feeds off misery, so even if someone isn't a victim, he still gets a kick out of messing with someone

Bringing up who he was as a person, and how he passed, is a sure fire way to be turned into a plaything. He doesn't even really like being called by his actual name anymore, if he even recognizes it

He doesn't remember his family's faces anymore

He's ambitious to a fault when it comes to power--he'll often try to find ways to siphon power from other powerful beings, and one day it's going to kill him for good

As one of the only other beings with proxies, he likes to keep an eye on Slender's. Especially Brian, since he's already given up, and Toby since he's easy to manipulate

He freaks out if light is shined on him, and refuses to go out during the day

Jeff The Killer

-- I'm sorry, but you can NOT tell me he cares enough to clean his room 😭.. This dude runs missions every other day, and he could care LESS about the state of his room as long as he has a bed. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's downright horrendously filthy, like a lot of headcanons, but its definitely not clean. He MAY clean up once in a while when someone he REALLY--i mean, REALLY-- likes is coming over. There's at least three dirty cups and a stack of plates on his dresser, along with clothes everywhere but in a hamper.

Bloody Painter

-- He's one of the cleaner ones. Does that mean there's not art supplies everywhere?........no. There are multiple finished, and unfinished, sketches, and drawing utensils on the floors, and his desk. He hates how messy it is (to his standards), but loves that he knows where everything is. It works for him, that's all that matters. He cleans weekly, maybe even every other day, but it ends up looking the same an hour into painting.

-- I'm sorry, she just really reminds me of these clean and white aesthetic rooms and i HAD to put them. Actually pretty clean. She doesn't like messes much at all. Very orderly, almost proper. Not much criticism, or much to say for her. She keeps her room super clean and tidy, doesn't wear outside clothes on her bed, such and such. A big reason for this is because a lot of her sheets are white...

-- Never sleeps so he doesn't use his room. Probably hasn't touched his bed in a WHILE.. It is clean though, only because he's barely in there. He likes bugging people, very social. Is everywhere BUT his assigned room

Hoodie

-- Another plain room hoe.. But he shares the room, so its reasonable. His side is overall very clean and put together! He doesn't spend much time cleaning, but it pays off that he doesn't hang out much in his room other than to sleep. Like Jeff, he's a busy bee. His room is overall clean, just occasionally a bottle or tape out of place, yk? Again, not much to say about him. He does sleep a lot more compared to Masky, but I'd say they have an equal workload and are both busy with missions.
