Once upon a never, part II | part I here
Thanks to some information leaking, it was possible for L-Elf to complete his plan and prevent his former right-hand to even set his eyes on the princess; of course they didnât have to draw the attention until the very end, otherwise it was possible for the guards to make his plan fail. While A-Drei and X-Eins were appointed with the diversion, the one-man-army would have taken care of the pilot, taking advantage of the general confusion. Strangely enough, he didnât meet any oppositions from his fellow soldiers, yet he wondered if they were taking the situation seriously: it was not a frivolous problem, for it involved not only his heart, but the whole country! Or at least, that was the justification L-Elf was giving himself. Also, in order to ease the advisorsâ preoccupations, the evening before the encounter the albino obtained a meeting with the princess, planning to reassure her about the fact that he was not angry, not in the slightest, not even nowhere near irritated. And for once, he could finally spend some minutes alone with her, without those vultures which constantly controlled him.
Just by entering her room his heart was engulfed with tranquillity, she was there and she was safe, and no one would lay a finger on her, not even Tokishima Haruto or anyone else. The prinzessin was his and only his, he was not going to share his happiness with anyone else. The hand on his chest, the soldier bowed with respect towards the princess before approaching her, meeting with his gaze her kind smile. âIâm glad you managed to come, Michael. I guess you heard about tomorrow, didnât you?â. Deciding to forget about her work of embroidery for a little while, with a gesture of her hand the pink-haired invited the other to sit next to her. âYou donât need to be this formalâ. Even if embarrassed, L-Elf had no choice but follow the request, clearing his voice before answering her question.
âI did. However, my princess, you donât have to worry. Iâm not planning anything against this meetingâ.
âOh, I wasnât really suspecting itâŚâ.
âAh, you didnât?â. Why did he have to act so foolishly in front of her?
âI donât agree with this idea, and I already told this clearly enough, but they decided to organize this event regardless. From the moment you are so well-informed, I imagine you also know I havenât changed my mindâ.
âThey wonât accept it, in any caseâ.
The change in his tone of voice caught Lieselotteâs attention, who glanced at the albino before warmly smiling at him, shifting her hand on his. âAlthough, you will not give in, wonât you?â.
Peeking at her, the conviction that he absolutely had to carry on his plan was growing firmer and firmer at each second, after all his licht shared his same dream, hence he had to do it not only for himself, but also for Lieselotte. Interferences were not accepted in this path he created for them both to be together. âI promised youâ. Holding her hand in return and intertwining their fingers, the knight dragged her princess closer, kissing her softly and sealing their vow. âThis path is only for the two of usâ.
The awaited day has come, and everything has been prepared to receive Tokishima Haruto and the JIORans. The princess was waiting at the entrance of the palace, surrounded by her advisors and the guards controlling that everything would proceed as planned.
âA-Drei⌠Do you think we should really do it? Coming to think of it, this idea seems quite stupidâ.
âDo you think Iâm happy about it? However we have no choice, after all it is for L-Elfâs sakeâ.
âEven so⌠the strategy he came up with is more similar to a gambleâŚâ.
âAlso someone like him has his own weaknessesâŚâ.
The conversation was interrupted by the communication device, L-Elfâs voice bursting on the scene. âThe arrival is expected within two minutes, thirteen secondsâ.
âYes, we are readyâ.
Suddenly a certain tension could be felt in the air, while the two soldiers prepared themselves, hid from indiscreet eyes but ready to take action immediately, following the albinoâs instructions; checking the passing of seconds, at the hour indicated the JIORans finally showed, A-Drei immediately recognized the brunet, after all he did steal his man and for this reason it was obvious for him to hold a grudge against the pilot. With a gesture of his hand, X-Eins launched the operation, and a moment before the two parties could greet each other, a white smoke abruptly invaded the scene, the guards immediately alerted as they were informed it could be a terroristsâ attack. While the dark-haired pretended to follow instructions, giving them to the other guards, A-Drei made sure to bring Lieselotte to a safer place, among the noisy requests of her advisors.
On the other side, before he could realize it Haruto found himself with the face against the ground, someone holding tightly his arms behind his back while probably his legs were blocked by the same person.
âW-Who are you?!â.
âItâs nice to meet you again in this circumstances, Tokishima Harutoâ.
âL-Elf?!â.
âYes. Now let me abduct youâ.
âWhat are you trying toâââââ mph!â.
âShut up, youâre too loudâ.
Making sure no one would chase after him, the soldier took away the pilot dragging him by force, he knew that place like the palm of his hand, there was a certain location in the basements were they could talk without being interrupted. To assure that he wouldnât scream, Haruto was gagged and, just for security issues, blindfolded. The boy was released only when L-Elf was sure they were alone, those two caused a ruckus enough to drift away everyoneâs attention, even though they would probably start to look for Haruto as soon as possible.
âFinally! What the hell are you doing?!â.
âYou. I am the one who should ask this questionâ.
âWhat do you mean?â.
L-Elfâs fingers wrapped around his gun, pointing it directly at the head of Haruto; after all he could not die. âI wonât let you take away the princess from meâ.
âWhat are you talking about⌠IâŚâ.
âSilence! You perfectly know the reason behind this meeting! And it is because they want to find an husband to Lieselotte!â.
âIf youâd let me explainâŚâ.
âNo! I wonât forgive you for having accept the invitation andâŚâ.
âI wasnât planning to accept anything!â.
When finally the other voice overwhelmed L-elfâs own, the one-man-army lowered the weapon, grabbing a lock of Harutoâs hair and forcing him to look directly at his eyes. âExplainâ.
âItâs true I knew about it, however I didnât want to accept it in the first place, and not only because princess Lieselotte already confirmed the fact that she was against itâŚâ.
âWhy?â.
Silence fell between them, Haruto averted his eyes but it was arduous to just look away, from the moment he wasnât allowed to. âBecause⌠the only one I love⌠is youâ. As the grip on his hair loosened, the pilot couldnât help but blush, finally released from the otherâs gaze. âAnd for this reason I can only desire for you to be happyâ.
