Traversing the years she’s breathed.
2019 was a year, a 365-days of uncountable memories, made up of infinite memories and emotions; a baking mix of tears of joy, exhaustion, disappointment and renewed hope; chronicles of beautiful memories travelling and traversing different parts of the World on planet Earth, learning, growing and laborious footsteps up mountainous gifts of Nature, and not forgetting the many momentous reunions of unions of two and funeral.
A conspectus of mainly work, looming deadlines, relationships, friendships, travel, learning, growing, falling, regaining balance, determination and perseverance. She’s learned about the harsh realities of human nature, of working life, of friendships. And through it all, she’s learned the true meaning of true unconditional love.
With everyone speaking and reminiscing about this ended decade, it naturally made her reflect about all that has happened thus far, in the past 10 years. And that brought her back to 2009.
2009: The year she graduated from high school and started another chapter in college; leaving the school she was stationed for 11 uninterrupted years; parting ways with the familiar faces, the bonds that toughened over the years, and all the chumminess. The year she was granted more independence and freedom; the year she was exposed to many more people from different walks of life; the year she started learning to make decisions for her future.
2011-2014: The University days; the living abroad alone days; blessed with the opportunity to live in a foreign country she’s never stepped foot in and clues of which she had none. Fuelled with eagerness, excitement and fear; she formed priceless friendships, she learned independence, courage and bravery; she could see more - more of the World. And, she graduated.
2015-2016: London. The big city; the city with red busses, black bulky cabs, classy people with high-end trench coats and high-knee boots, steak, pubs and wine; and also the city with sidewalks of indigents, suburbs of humility and averages, students living on minimal pocket monies and student loans.
Not forgetting the daunting, frequently unvisited sub-chapters of immense stress, of fear, incompetence and inadequacy, of failing and falling. And, finally, she walked into Temple Church, towards the Altar and renamed as a barrister-at-law of Inner Temple.
2017-2019: Days of new love and new friendships; days of drowning in seas of never-ending deadlines; taking and learning new knowledge, new people, a new religion, and days of chasing her favourites; the runs, the hikes, the travels, and Nature; and amongst all, days of finding the balance.
All sustained by true love and constant self-reminders of, You are stronger than yesterday; You are stronger than you think you are; The easy-pace downhills will welcome you in open arms after the breathtaking uphills, and finally on this apt day, quote-unquote, “There is sun after rain; there is love after pain.”.
She’s never more blessed to be still living; still breathing. To be blessed with all the love in the World. To be blessed with unreserved true love. Thank you.
