To describe Victor as socially awkward would be an understatement. He’s gotten better in recent years, but growing up it was a miracle if he’d say five words to someone who wasn’t his family. And he was content with that. He loved being able to sit quietly and draw and read and play piano. He found it so much easier to express himself in those ways. He didn’t mind life being plain, he liked staying out of the spotlight. Unfortunately for him, his parents had other ideas. They dreamed of lavishness and Victor was their ticket to that. Once they realized they could marry him off to a rich family, it didn’t matter what Victor wanted to do with his life. He was to be wed to Miss Victoria Everglot whether that’s what he wanted or not.
He didn’t know what he wanted, but it only became more complicated when he accidentally “married” Emily in the graveyard. He didn’t know she was there. And everything happened so fast. But as he got to know her, he did realize that she was… sweet. She was easy to talk to. Easier to talk to than most. But as he got to know Victoria more, he found himself feeling the same way about her. He doesn’t know what to do or how to feel. And the closer he gets to both of them, the more complicated everything gets. He finds solace in playing the piano and sketching in the graveyard, but more often than not does he find himself sketching the face of one of his ‘betrothed.’ Victor has never been one to have anyone’s attention, and now he has more than he knows what to do with. He tries to keep a level head about it all, but it’s all more stressful than he could even imagine.
Victor finds himself miming out piano tunes on tables when he’s nervous. He’s been playing so long that the muscle memory of it relaxes him.
Everything he plays sounds so somber and depressing, but he finds melancholy enchanting. Perhaps that’s why he finds both Victoria and Emily so stunning.
He enjoys going to the graveyard. He feels like he can sense the spirits there and enjoys their company more than the living. He’ll often use tarot cards there and has been tempted to bring a ouiji board but also feels like he has enough going on in his life, and accidentally summoning a demon would make things so much more complicated.
His wardrobe is very bland. Lots of grays and blacks and muted tones. He does his best to dress nice, but most of his nice clothes were bought from thrift shops or second hand stores.
He loves to sketch and if he’s not playing the piano, that’s probably what he’s doing. Some of his drawings are dark, but most are just still lifes or portraits.
He’s a very anxious and nervous person, especially when he has to talk to people. Emily and Victoria are the only people he feels really confident talking to. But even then he gets tripped up over his words if he looks at them for too long and he remembers himself.
He really doesn’t know how to feel about getting married. On the one hand, Victoria wasn’t too bad, but on the other hand, neither was emily, and on the other other hand, he’d never really… dated anyone before. He was too shy and nobody really wanted to hang out with him or be around him. It’s scary to think that his first relationship would be his marriage. But his parents don’t really seem to care.
He worries about disappointing his parents if he doesn’t choose victoria. But more than that, he worries about disappointing victoria.
Victor enjoys the nighttime and being out and alone under the moonlight. It’s relaxing. It’s one of the only times he feels truly at piece–other than when he’s playing piano.
Piano really is his biggest passion. All he has in his apartment is some second hand, slightly out of tune upright he got from an estate sale once, but his dream is to have his own grand piano. Something stunning. He doesn’t dream of luxury, but if he was to ever have one luxurious and frivolous item in his life, it would be that.
He managed to find a studio apartment he could afford so he didn’t have to live under his parents thumb anymore. It’s nothing glamorous and it’s honestly quite cramped, but it’s better than his parents breathing down his neck about wedding stuff all the time.
