its been awhile since i made some time for myself in the form of personal art — the past month has been really tough for my general health. many hours spent in bed and in transit, grappling with my mortality has got me thinking — what have i been really living for? i feel like the role of art-making in my life was some place of negotiation with the part of myself that hasn’t been seeing the point beyond all the hardship. after much examining, i found that i’ve always loved creating art not just because of what i’m able to convince someone of with my art, but what i’ve been able to convince myself of because of my art. there’s so much to treasure and live for. 💖 what do you make art for? 🎤

The Midwestern Princess

Kikyo is such a tragic and complex character. I think I like her more and more every time I re-watch Inuyasha. I think they could have done more with the reincarnation aspect of Kikyo and Kagome, honestly. Like, I wonder if Kikyo ever had the thought "Did Inuyasha ever love me or was it just the part of me that became Kagome?" Can you imagine realizing it was never going to be you, but instead a different version of you? One who didn't grow up with that responsibility, or meet that tragic fate? No wonder she was always glaring at Kagome.
