Honestly, it’s such a wild take to think he should’ve retired just to “protect” his legacy. That completely ignores the fact that he’s been up against a system that’s actively tried to hold him back at every turn. Stepping aside would’ve handed the narrative to people who wanted to erase his accomplishments. Staying in the game, fighting under unfair conditions, and continuing to showcase his talent and determination that is what defines a legacy. That is who Lewis is. He's been a fighter his whole career. The last few years are no different and do not diminish his legacy in the slightest.
