In Case I Died when the World Ended in 2012
I want to make it known that my vote goes to the Libertarian candidate today, election day, 2016.
Queued this Election Day 2012 so my vote could be counted.
Well, somehow 2012 me miscalculated when Election Day 2016 would be and was off by one week. Oh well. The message still stands, just for next Tuesday.
In Case I Died when the World Ended in 2012
I want to make it known that my vote goes to the Libertarian candidate today, election day, 2016. Queued this Election Day 2012 so my vote could be counted.
Why I Can't Support Clinton or Trump
The two most important issues to me, personally: Balancing the Budget/Debt Reduction and Reforming our Military Use to Stop Intervening Where We Don't Belong
Clinton on the budget: The deficit won't increase under my plans. It will stay the same as current projections. Trump's will make it 105% of our GDP.
Trump on the budget: The numbers lie. I won't raise the deficit by as much as analysts claim.
Me: I want someone who will balance the budget and avoid a Greece-style collapse (which will happen eventually if we don't fix our debt crisis, whether it happens soon or in a couple of decades). Instead, the two major parties give a choice between going into debt at the same rate we are now or going into even more debt!
Clinton on Military: Supporting the Iraq intervention was a mistake. But I also supported intervention in Libya, after recognizing Iraq as a mistake. But at least Trump supported these too.
Trump: Don't believe the recordings of me saying such ridiculous things. I never supported Iraq or Libya. Let's make our military budget even larger and completely crush ISIS, even intentionally targeting and killing innocent children if we have to!
Me: How about a choice that reduces militarism, rather than a choice that continues our current level or one that increases it?
I want to stop hearing political arguments based off: rhetoric and things that don't change the everyday lives of average Americans. You know, like...
Clintonite: Look at what Trump has said about sexually assaulting women, and all the allegations against him!
Trumpet: Well, obviously those women are lying, and look at all the misogyny in Bill Clinton's life! Her husband has so many allegations against him.
Clintonite: How dare you accuse those ladies of lying! And Bill was never found guilty of anything! Also, Trump is friends with Putin and encouraged Russia to hack into Hillary's emails!
Trumpet: Well, why has Hillary deleted 33,000 emails when the courts ordered her not to?
Clintonite: Those emails were deleted by an aide, not her, and she handed over anything they asked for and was found not guilty! How about what Trump said about Mexicans and bad hombres?
And so on...:
:
:
:
I want to start hearing political debates: about the issues that will actually affect the average American. You know, something like...
Clintonite: Clinton's tax plans would make it so that needed programs like Medicaid and food stamps would be paid for, and the burden would be shifted toward the wealthy. No longer would a multibillionaire be able to go 18 years without paying taxes.
Trumpet: Trump's proposal to lower the corporate tax rates would likely encourage businesses to come here, open up here, and stay here.
Clintonite: But we need to make sure that those here who are capable of doing so pay their fair share. Also, we need to grant amnesty to any illegal coming forward and make the benefits for becoming legal greater than the risks of remaining illegal, so that we can know who is here. Mass deportation is too expensive and not practical.
Trumpet: I respectfully disagree. We need to deport all illegals. What is illegal is illegal, and we are not a nation of laws if we do not enforce the laws. It will be worth the cost because it will open up jobs for those here legally, and it will get rid of those illegals who may mean harm to our country.
And so on...:
:
:
:
I would much rather, in these final weeks before the election: See honest and respectful debate of the issues than slander and personal attacks that have nothing to do with the day to day struggles of the average American.
I think, as Americans: We deserve to be informed when we vote, and thus to know their policies rather than their rhetoric.
But I do not think: We will get that from either Trump or Clinton, nor from their campaigns and the people each one's campaign relies on.

Gary Johnson has proposed the Federal Student Loan program should be abolished
In an interview with Katie Couric, Gary Johnson argued that abolishing the federal student loan program would lower the demand for college and thus lower the tuition. This is one thing that I simply cannot agree with Johnson on. We cannot simply abolish the federal student loan program. What we can do is reduce the size of the program in order to save money and better serve those who really need it and deserve it. Right now, FAFSA is available to any student who maintains a 2.0 GPA or higher. Why is it that we are rewarding students who are barely passing with loans that will likely leave them in a debt they cannot pay off and will simply end up being passed on to the taxpayers? What incentive is there for students to do well and learn the things that will help them in the workforce if they can get their financial aid by barely passing? Another thing to limit the cost of FAFSA and the amount of debt students get into is that these loans should only be usable at public universities (like the SUNY system) or, for those attending private universities, for an amount of tuition up to the median public university tuition in the student's state of residence. By limiting federal loans as such, private universities will have to either limit their tuition costs or allow for more scholarship rewards, or they will lose out on a large portion of their student population who use FAFSA. This would help control not only the amount of debt students incur, but also the cost to taxpayers of defaulted student loans, while also encouraging private universities to lower their tuitions and/or become more competitive in their own private financial aid systems in order to remain competitive. But Johnson's proposal to completely scrap federal student loans is too extreme and would leave students of low income families at a serious disadvantage. We cannot go to the extreme of giving everyone free college as some Progressives suggest, but we also cannot go to the extreme of completely getting rid of the current program.
You can't: learn from your mistakes if you refuse to admit you made the mistake. #TrumpSupportedIraqAndLibya
You can't: claim you've learned from your mistakes if you've then made the same or similar mistakes. #ClintonSupportedIraqThenLibya
You can: claim you wouldn't have made those mistakes, nor would you make similar mistakes, if you have consistently opposed them through an advancement of principled policies. #JohnsonOpposedBothIraqAndLibya
I found information on the clips Trump was referencing last night when he accused Clinton of inciting violence at his campaigns. It was hard to find because it didn’t get much mainstream attention. A few things to remember:
(1) It was a Democrat advocacy group, not Clinton’s campaign itself, that was allegedly involved, though the individual mostly accused (Mr. Creamer) did have some involvement in the Clinton campaign, but has already stepped down after the videos were released. (2) The two individuals who share the brunt of the accusations in these videos are Mr. Creamer, who like I said has already stepped down, and a contractor who had been fired a while ago. (3) DNC officials and the like have denounced what the video captures as not being the way their rallies have been or ought to be organized. (At least, they have not officially been organized this way.) (4) Those involved claim that the conversations were just hypothetical conversations, and that the schemes were never carried out. However, in reading what the schemes actually were, if they didn’t carry them out it seems people did it on their own anyway. It does not seem that they discussed going out and violently attacking Trump supporters, but rather that they suggested ways to incite the more hot headed Trump supporters to act violently by wearing Planned Parenthood shirts, accusing Trump of being a Nazi, and more. In many cases, Democrat protesters did rally in a way that caused Trump supporters to lash out against them. (5) On the guy who put together the undercover videos, a certain Mr. O'Keefe: “In the past, O'Keefe and his Project Veritas Action have been criticized for strategically editing footage to create false accusations about people or groups.”
I think the debate tonight was mostly a draw, and I could see how Clintonites and Trumpets could each try to claim victory. In the end though, it was mostly a draw. Which means it was ultimately a Clinton victory, as Trump needed to really do much better than Clinton tonight given the recent trends.
Summary of this last segment
The only candidate serious about tackling the debt crisis is not up there.

Obama's plan has slowly but surely been beating ISIS, while protecting US soldiers as much as possible.
If Trump really wants to discuss the election being rigged, let's discuss how the whole system is rigged against third parties.
Simply put: Donald Trump is a sore loser. He is preparing things in advance to be a sore loser should he lose on November 8th.
However: I do have to agree with him that Clinton should not have been allowed to be the nominee for the Democrats. But she is, and however horrible she is, he is just as bad if not worse.
What I would really like: For another choice to actually be given a chance.
Exactly, it's not one thing, it's a pattern. And that's why it shows who Trump really is, and why any claims that the things are false are ridiculous.
I apparently missed the clips today about Clinton advocating violence... Can someone please link me to them if they are real? I must have been too busy writing to see them, as I had things I needed to complete.

Trump on the facts that side with him: Thank you. Trump on the facts that side with her: Not true.
Her tax plan may be better than his, BUT...
I hate to disagree with you on this, but $250,00 is too low of a cutoff, Hillary... In the current modern age, we need to be lowering taxes on everyone making under $1 million a year, as these are the ones using the greatest portion of their income to stimulate the economy. But, she is right, we do need to shift the burden to the multimillionaires and billionaires. We ought to raise their taxes AND create a minimum effective tax on income in the millions. BUT the cutoff needs to be $1 million, not $250,000.
