Dear you,

I miss you like hell lately.

Not the you that you are now. Not the you who you became, where you treated me so awfully. The you who lied, who cheated, who was neglectful and broke every promise.

I miss my best friend. I miss having someone who I could be myself with at that level. I miss being able to trust someone like that.

It still amazes me how two people can go from sharing the most intimate moments and versions of themselves and become total strangers so quickly. I really wish things had gone differently. Looking back, this was the only way it could have gone though. With how you changed, with how the person I had loved so dearly faded away right in front of me and became someone who could treat me so poorly. I still don't understand. I suppose I never will.

I miss my best friend. But I don't miss you. They're no longer the same person.
