God Bless Me

Did you know deciding throughout several years to not shit-talk a friend who was literally mentally abusing you to the point of a therapist declaring she caused you to have PTSD-like traits and anxiety, to your common friends because you didn’t want to impact her social life, is literally shooting yourself in the foot? Because in no way will a person who has no issue ABUSING YOU have any problem shit-talking you and lying to your friends and people who know both of you, just so she can get sympathy. 

I decided not to involve anybody else because I didn’t want to have a negative impact on her limited social circle, which allowed her to control the narrative and make me seem like a “cunt”. Nevermind that she made me cry daily, made me scared to leave my room for several years, made me feel unsafe in my own home, threatened to throw me out on the street (which luckily didn’t happen because her dad stopped her from doing so, plus it was my name on the rental agreement, so instead she had to move), didn’t allow me to use any of her items in our home but demanded she could use mine - and when I, as a response to her removing all her shared-items from the common area (as well as several of mine) said: “If I can’t use yours, you can’t use mine” I was apparently a “psychopath” and a “bitch”. She even told my dad she wished him, my mother and my brother all the worst things in the world, even though he and my mother have only ever been kind to her, even going above and beyond. He had literally just wished her all the best when she said it.

But honestly? The people who listen to her lies and don’t bother contacting me to hear my side of the story? They are the cunts not me. Why would I even want to be friends with people who will choose an abusive pos over me?

Don’t let other people control your narrative. But if it happens - be glad it helped you weed out the scum in your life.
