Y'now what really fascinates me about the Heterodynes~?~ It's a running joke that telling a monster "I AM YOUR CREATOR OBEY ME!" never works, but with the Heterodynes it does work mostly. I don't know if it's their extra strong sparks or just treating their creations with respect but Heterodyne monsters are loyal and the same goes for their minions. This is why I can like and root for all of the Heterodynes, even the old evil ones. I just have a soft spot for loyalty like that.
(publishing because honestly we need the whole fandom in on these things)
It seems that way with the Heterodynes and it has something to do with generational loyalty that is also contagious. But it is very different.Β
If a Heterodyne actually tries theΒ βI AM YOUR CREATOR OBEY ME!β it doesnβt work for them!
See! it didnβt work. They work it by sayingΒ βIM THE HETERODYNEβ because there is a good chance they arentΒ the creator of the monster they are ordering around! A whole lot of monsters that each Heterodyne commanded were created by their predecessors!Β
I canβt find the page but the Castle wanted to do something that Agatha didnβt approve of so Agatha just yelledΒ βHETERODYNEβ and it complied with her wishes.Β
Gil was able to get the dingbot to work for him by saying it was helping its mistress (not creator)
The Heterodynes are not their monstersΒ βcreatorsβ they are masters.Β
Similar loyalty is found in the Muses as they were created to serve the Storm King, whoever that is. The Storm King being their master, whether the king created them or not!
Tarvekβs not the original storm king, he didnβt build the muses, but they are completely loyal to him!
THANK YOU SIS
and look it calls AgathaΒ βmistressβ notΒ βcreatorβ (because she didnβt create the castle)Β
There is a part where Agatha screeches at a monster that sheβs not its creator and that it should not obey her and it works.
...shortly followed, I must remind, by the monster's creator demanding it obey him, and, well.
