          Of course it was. This would always be how it ended. Time and time again those within the Fatui would find ways to deceive her, either with a friendly smile or by simply being two steps ahead. Lumine was always ready for this outcome. So why did it still sting? Why did she find her blood running cold, why let herself to be taken aback? Why did she allow herself to go along with it. Never acting right away, watching as things played out right before her eyes; this wasn't Paimon's fault. The blame could only be Lumine's and hers alone, for she was the one with experience, someone who'd seen the destruction of worlds and the cruelty that lied in the hearts of darkness.

Where had she been looking, what had she seen in him, that forced her hand and quelled her blade? For her tongue to be supressed?

How can she ever forget. Those deaths by the hands of the delusions so heartlessly given out to those who just wanted to protect what was dear to them. To make a difference. And all for the Fatui's gain. How he dared to ridicule him.
