i dont think yr insane. im not sure what yr parents deal is, but i get why u feel crazy (i barely remember any of my childhood & it makes me feel a little batshit sometimes too, so yr not alone!!). i'd say maybe try asking other ppl u knew during childhood abt it? my parents didnt do what yrs r doing, but i have a strained relationship w them so i didnt ever wanna ask, but i have learned things abt my childhood from kids i was friends with, other relatives, & family photo albums. idk what u have access to, but maybe try looking 4 things like that. my dms r always open if u wanna talk abt this more btw. im not sure if i can help, but im a good listener if u need one
