A/N: Giveaway prize for @yoolee who kindly left me to choose between two of my favourite characters. I chose Yukimura in the end because his ‘flipped switch’ was just too tempting.

You sighed contentedly over the scene before you - finally feeling at peace over the worry you had felt in the past week. There had been a campaign which had the potential to turn very bloody - and turned bloody it did. When the news of a war had reached the castle, you had been gripped by fear and you spent your days at the top of the castle’s tower, on the lookout for any signs of Yukimura’s return. As always, he had led the front lines - and though you knew he was one of the finest warriors around -  you couldn’t help but feel sick with worry for his safety. 

Now, however, with the tides turned, there was a feast being held in celebration of their victory and you had been put in charge of it. You made sure to make Yukimura’s favourite dishes, eager to see the way his eyes lit up at his favourite foods, eager to see that bright smile that you loved so much. 

It was a strange thing, then, that throughout the victory feast, Yukimura had not touched more than a handful of food and a cup of sake, despite the constant goading from Lord Shingen. A victory usually gave the men a boost in their morale and a voracious appetite, and any tiredness they may have had from the war usually disappeared. A little worried, you sat next to him and threw a concerned glance, wondering if he was feeling unwell. 

Yukimura’s eyes were quickly skirting the hall, as if he was judging something. Just as you noticed, you suddenly felt him grasp your hand, his fingers tightening around yours. 

‘Let’s go,’ he whispered, tugging.
