it’s been around as long as you can remember. the mandel academy is a new york institution, a beacon of hope for the future that takes in destitute, but talented youths, and turns them into some of the world’s most successful people. when lucian mandel, erm, mysteriously disappeared, everyone thought the academy would just shut down, but a generous londoner has taken the academy under his wing. what the place does is an absolute good — right ?? it takes people from rags to riches. every graduate since 1960 has earned a full scholarship to an ivy league school. so when you’re plucked out of a horrible situation and offered a place at mandel, you jump at the chance for a new life. after all it’s such a rare opportunity ;; eighteen students enroll each year, and only nine out of the fifty or so there graduate.
but when you get there, you learn the school’s not what it seems. the mandel acadamy actually teaches its students how to do anything and everything they aren’t supposed to do, from assassination techniques to extortion. cut off from the outside world and your old life, you’re left with a choice — fight or die. will you lie, cheat, and steal your way to the top of the class ?? will you give in — and end up among those in the bottom of the class who get expelled ( and, oddly, are often never heard from again ) ?? or will you make the choice not to play along with the academy’s game, damn the consequences, and make an attempt at doing something else ??

if you’re to enroll at mandel academy, please take note of the following:
➢ this is a group verse based upon the concept of the mandel academy from the novel how to lead a life of crime by kirsten miller. ➢ no ooc drama will be tolerated. if any ooc drama is to arise, the admin reserves the right to remove both roleplayers involved from the verse. however, ic drama is not just tolerated but highly encouraged. ;) ➢ considering the nature of the mandel academy, triggering material is likely to come up during this verse. i ask that members make sure to always tag their triggers. remember, your health comes first !! ➢ there will be eighteen students allowed to join the verse ;; it is first-come, first-serve. however, if all student slots fill up and you still want to join, you can apply for a place as a teacher !! ➢ ocs are most definitely welcome in this verse, but no duplicate characters will be allowed. ➢ if you roleplay as a character that has supernatural powers/abilities, you are allowed to join the verse, but please join with a human version of your character. seeing as getting to graduation is a competition at this school, it’d be unfair to people whose characters are purely human for yours to have powers. ➢ once you are accepted, please track the tag v; how to lead a life of crime, follow everyone in the verse, and reblog this post.
