Hooded eyes stared blearily at the setting sun, the sky a mural of brilliant oranges yellows and reds that gradually gave way to the stark blues and blacks of night. A quiet groan escaped the lazing void being’s lips, her joints creaking and cracking as she stretched further across feathered thighs. 

“You spent the day reading again,” Riven muttered with a yawn, her claws extending outward as she flexed her fingers. “Weren’t we supposed to be sparing today?”

The young Darkin hummed affirmatively at her question, his gaze set firmly on the book in his possession. ”But you wished to nap first dear Auntie,” A flip of a page, the absentminded taping of a claw against the books hardback, and a hidden smirk as the slightest hint of amusement danced on the edges of his words “And so here we are.” 

Riven huffed, thick wafts of smoke spilling from the sides of her lips as she gave the younger being a flat look, not wholly enjoying the slight role shift of being teased instead of teasing. “Cheeky.” 

With a shake of her head, she returned her gaze to the sky, a gentle purr echoing in her chest as she enjoyed the view. “Finnish the chapter your on then get ready to spar. I feel you will rather enjoy the lesson at hand as it will be a style of swordplay your Father has not begun to teach you yet. “

Riven grins, her fangs peeking past her lips at the thought of Baal getting the drop on his Darkin sire during a training exercise. 

“You’ll surprise him yet.”
