So you may have noticed I disappeared. Short version: I had some mental health problems I needed to sort out, including but not limited to burnout, and the Wrath of the Wraith project was put on a long hiatus for basically all of 2025 (when I had originally envisioned the book being published).
Coming back from my hiatus, feeling much better, I am working on making this project even better than before! Between now and May 2026, I plan on reworking the storyboard for not only Wrath of the Wraith, but now for the two sequel books, and a secret prequel book (Titles TBA).
This is a loose timeline of the future for Book 1, and I will try to update as frequently as possible:
Reworking the storyboards (Spring 2026)
Begin the new first drafts, based on the new storyboards (Summer 2026)
Finish the first draft of Book 1 (Winter 2026)
Begin editing Book 1 (Winter 2026/2027)
Hire a cover artist for Book 1 (Spring 2027)
Finish first round of editing for Book 1 and release ARC (Summer 2027)
Finish second round of editing for Book 1 (Winter 2027/2028)

Weekly Update - Sins of the Saint Project - Wrath of the Wraith
Hello, wonderful readers!
I am writing to share some exciting announcements for this project.
Firstly, we are already chugging along! Secondly, as of writing this post, Chapters One and Two are available to read for FREE on my Ko-Fi right now. I will be posting up to Chapter 10 as free-to read while I continue to work on this project.
Read chapter one: https://ko-fi.com/s/cddaa1c492
Read chapter two: https://ko-fi.com/s/0fb6b6ca19
Thirdly, if you have not already seen, I have a discord server dedicated to this project! The discord server gets the most frequent updates to the project, so if you're invested, please join the server. https://discord.gg/7hFr2GuDu7
Lastly, an update to our timeline!
I finished the storyboarding faster than I had originally planned to, so I am moving onto drafting new chapters, which is putting us ahead of schedule. My goal is to alternate between drafting and editing so that I can release new chapters each month. I won't promise how many chapters, but I'm hoping I can at least get one chapter per month posted on Ko-Fi.
The best author tip I can give is: collect quotes.
Assuming you're already reading (which has loads of benefits for creativity), it is always good to have a way to easily look back on things that have inspired you or things that stuck out in other's writing. Allow yourself to reflect on it.
Is it the prose? Is it emotional? Maybe it's philosophical? Or perhaps it made you think about a related topic?
Once you determine why it stuck out, figure out how you can incorporate that into your writing. For some things, like prose, it may take some additional effort to learn how it works, but it will pay off.
If you're already collecting quotes, are they organized so you can quickly refer back to them? The organization is what I'm struggling with, so for 2025 I'm working towards creating an organized quote system.

Welcome to the second post in the author Diaries series! I am making slow, but consistent, progress on the first draft. It's an interesting endeavor knowing that I am pouring my soul into this manuscript, and also knowing it will be the worst book I ever publish because I'm going to strive to do better with every book.
However, that does not mean I am sacrificing quality. I am still doing the best I can and giving myself the opportunity to grow from what I make. By the time the first draft is finished, I will have already improved substantially as a writer which will make the second draft even better. Each additional draft until the final will also be better than the last. I am expecting this to take 3 drafts, but I am not limiting myself to that. If it takes more, I will absolutely do more drafts.
On other social media platforms I am doing advertising to build up excitement and anticipation for the book, but if I'm being totally honest: I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm spraying and praying. I'm not sure that it's entirely working though because the algorithm confuses me. For example, on TikTok, my most viewed Wrath of the Wraith post has 1.8k views and 5 likes. The next highest viewed WotW post has 930 views and 33 likes. I recreated the 930 view post with slightly different content and that post got only 325 views and 1 like. I have no idea how the like-view ratio can vary so much between similar posts.
Over on Instagram, most WotW posts get less than 5 likes. I've only had one that was more than that.
All this to say: Trying to gauge the algorithm is difficult.
In related news...
I made my first "tropes" post! The background was hand drawn by me. The cover design is not yet done, but I have commissioned an artist to make it. Currently her commission schedule means I should have the cover sometime during Summer 2025 (northern hemisphere). I'm hoping to start ARC applications around the time I reveal the cover art.
I had a ton of fun writing this, and I accidentally took inspiration from the story of Ariadne from Greek mythology while writing it. When I started writing this scene, I did not have a clear picture for where it would end up, so I let the character write it for me. If you know, you know.
A void. Abyssal. Consuming.
A light - blue and soft - floats at a distance impossible to determine without visible landmarks. The light flickers. Dark, then light. Soft, then sharp. Blue, then gone.
I step towards the light. Cold fills the soles of my feet, yet I am not standing on ground. Another light flickers, this time to my right. It is closer. It is warm. Rather than flickering blue, it is a deep purple.
Another step. Another light. Green.
Another step. The lights dance.
I blink. Darkness. The fear threatens to consume, so I stomp. Stomp and spin.
I begin dancing, creating a beat with my stomping, and as I do, more lights appear. They encircle me, and some form shapes. People, animals, life. The lights dance with me, filling the air with smells of florals and citrus, spices and smoke. These lights are mine, and I am theirs. My music gives them strength, and their worship gives me mine.
Our dance continues, indefinitely, coloring the landscape of this abyss. Stars, grass, mountains. A world is born. Sometimes, the lights disappear for a time, then return with tales of experience. They bring music of their own, supplementing my rhythmic beating. They bring herbs and dressings that they use in celebration with me.
Sometimes, the lights become cold and depthless. I learn that they have needs yet to be filled. I learn to help, but it soon becomes too much. Too many need my help. My feet are sore. Ages of beating the same beat. I need help.
Welcome to the first Author Diaries post! In this series of posts I will be talking about my thoughts, feelings, writing process, and whatever else I think of. Feel free to ask me anything!
Today, December 4th, 2024, I am working on figuring out a sustainable method for me to post on a regular basis. Currently my hurdles are:
I'm neurodivergent and suffer from autistic burnout
I don't know what types of posts to create
Finding the time to create posts between work and school among my hobbies (writing included)
Finding a structure that works for me but doesn't contribute to burnout
To mitigate some of these hurdles I got myself a post uploader (I'm trying out Buffer currently but I may switch to something else if it doesn't suit my needs. So far so good though.) and I will be dedicating time each weekend to build an arsenal of content to post throughout the week.
Additionally, I want to make it a goal to dedicate 1 hour every night to my writing process. If I can write for that time, great, if not I will use that time for editing, world building, or making more posts to promote my book.
Now for the feels
This journey can be very exhausting at times. While I like the work I'm doing, it's sometimes hard to answer the question "why am I doing this?" With the political climate especially, I have no idea whether I will be able to publish my book as I planned because book bans primarily target books like mine. Books with trans characters, books with political commentary, books that deconstruct systems of power and injustice.
I know in my heart of hearts, that is exactly why I should do it. I want my book to be a light in the dark for someone, and I can't do that without publishing it. However, I do fear publishing after the US inauguration.
If you saw my project roadmap post a couple weeks ago, you know I plan on publishing in late 2025. That date feels simultaneously like it's rapidly approaching and like I'm standing still in time.
To be entirely transparent, I don't know how fast I will be able to finish my first draft. My goal is at the end of January, but a lot has happened since that goal was made.
Together, we will see what the future holds.
I am glad for everyone who has given support so far I'm this project and anyone who offers it in the future. That said, please be sure to take care of yourself as well. You cannot pour from an empty pitcher. Whether you are a creative, or a consumer of creative endeavors, you need to refill yourself from time to time. Life is hard, but it is even harder when your basic needs are not met. And don't forget: rest is a basic need.
Wrath of the Wraith Update!
Admittedly I don't have much to update you on. I have been in burn out mode for a couple weeks now as a result of school stress, political stress, and life stress. However, I am on the mend. With a bit of dedication, and a dash actually taking care of myself, I should be able to begin writing again soon.
For me,as both a reader and a writer, it depends HEAVILY on each villain. Some questions I ask myself when plotting out a villain's arc:
What makes this character a villain?
What are their goals and motivations?
Can they reach their goals without being considered a villain?
Why did they choose the path they are on? Or, if they didn't choose, how did they get there?
What are systemic, environmental, or societal things that affect their actions?
Elaboration below:
What makes this character a villain?
Some traits cannot be redeemed or justified. While there is not a set list there are often guidelines for what is redeemable or justifiable.
**Does that trait or actions negatively affect a group of people in the story?** All forms of bigotry (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, etc) are, in my opinion, irredeemable with one major exception: education. If a character is bigoted because their society engrains it from a young age, but the character has a growth arc where they learn about their prejudices and **works to fix the system**. It is not enough to just "learn and listen".
Take the US: homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia are deeply entrenched in society. Anti-Black and Anti-Indigenous sentiments are built into a large portion of the history curriculum.
One myth that has stayed since before slavery was abolished is the belief that Black people inherently have a higher pain tolerance than White people. That is not true, and yet, Black people, especially Black AFAB people, do not get necessary medical treatment because of that belief. Where does that belief come from? The history lessons that say slavers justified their abuse of humans by saying they couldn't feel the pain.
If you're writing a story where bigotry is the main motive behind villains' actions those villains may not be redeemable. Redemption from that discredits the writer for being insensitive to certain groups. For fantasy writers: **this remains true even if the group being harmed is not a human.** Historically, monsters have been used to negatively portray BIPOC groups, especially Black people. Orcs, as made by Tolkien, are viewed in the story as being inherently malevolent and serve as a foil to the more elegant elves. While Tolkien himself did not associate Orcs with Blackness, as evidenced by a letter to his son during WW2 where he claimed each side was filled with evil and good, others certainly did. Letter:
Yes, I think the orcs as real a creation as anything in 'realistic' fiction ... only in real life they are on both sides, of course. For 'romance' has grown out of 'allegory', and its wars are still derived from the 'inner war' of allegory in which good is on one side and various modes of badness on the other. In real (exterior) life men are on both sides: which means a motley alliance of orcs, beasts, demons, plain naturally honest men, and angels.
Eugenists believe that different races and ethnicities behave a certain way "naturally" which is where negative stereotypes prevail. Many ways orcs are described in fantasy stories parallels real life racism.
If the villain does not put in the work to redeem themselves, they should not have redemption. Sorry does not fix anything. Education only fixes things if it is put to use.
However, if their villainy is, in fact, justifiable...
They may be able to have a redemption arc.
What are their goals and motivations?
Depending on the answer to this, there may or may not be a redemption possible. Things like genocide and colonialism cannot be redeemed. However, thirst for knowledge? Trying to make ends meet? You may have something there.
Can they reach their goals and motivations without being considered a villain?
Basically, is there another path they can take? Can your redemption arc show the progress of switching paths? What does that look like for your character?
How did they get on their current path? Did they choose it?
This gives an opportunity for some socioeconomic development and world building. Also consider the point of view here. From the perspective of the oligarchy, a Robin Hood character would be a villain, however RH characters are just trying to make ends meet in a society that makes robbery the best path to ensuring basic needs. People cannot buy bread if there is no way for them to make money. As a result, the perspective of the poor within a society run by the elite class would hail RH characters as heroes for providing where rulers cannot.
What are systemic, environmental, or societal things that affect their actions?
Relating to RH characters, the system is what causes their actions of stealing. Systemic issues like income inequality affect actions of characters.

As soon as the connection is made, ve feels the fear and distress so intensely that Aster wonders if that is what it feels like to be overtaken by a storm in an angry ocean.
Meet Aster, a moss fae from Wrath of the Wraith, my political dark fantasy novel. Aster uses neo pronouns (ve/ver/vers/verself) and lives in the Nythian forests.
The blurb for Wrath of the Wraith is pinned to my blog.
Progress on Wrath of the Wraith has been slow for the last week due to life stress, but I have just begun working on chapter 4. This quote is at the beginning of chapter 4 and introduces a new country, Nythia.
Alt text: Quote from Wraith of the Wraith by V.L. Witt. "In the Nythian forests, there are rumors of fae folk that protect the forest. Treat the forest with respect, and you won't cross their path. Bring destruction to the forest, and you will become one of many strange disappearances." From the Nythian Folk Lore Compendium by S.K. Hold. Image background is a forest with gold sunlight
“This is going to be a big project, that much is obvious. We should start getting ready for the meeting. The officials said the meeting starts at midday, and I think it would be wise to grab some food before we leave.” Tavyth says as they look at Elaryn to watch her reaction. First, her eyes grow wide in excitement, then she pouts. Tavyth struck home.
“You better be suggesting that we go to Annie’s bakery if you’re expecting me to leave this blanket behind,” she mumbles as she further wraps herself in the blanket.
“I heard that the açaí berries are in season, I bet Annie is making something with them,” Tavyth coaxes with a grin. Elaryn groans then tosses the blanket aside, before muttering about how they owe her if there’s nothing there with açaí. Then, she grabs her clothes and starts getting dressed, so Tavyth does the same.
Tavyth and Elaryn are adorable together, and writing little scenes like this brings me so much joy.
This is a snippet from my WIP political dark fantasy novel Wrath of the Wraith. Blurb pinned to my page. This snippet comes from a chapter written in Tavyth's POV

Meet Arvalyn, a human in my WIP novel Wrath of the Wraith. Art done by @madeby-meru
Arvalyn is from the country of Armidea, and one of the 4 main characters.
Arvalyn wants to ignore him; to just finish his grub and go to sleep, but Arvalyn thinks the man looks like a kicked puppy. Arvalyn sighs, defeated.
“Tell me about Bob. He must be a decent fellow if you were that excited to see him.” he says before shoving a spoon of stew into his mouth. He winces then takes a swig of ale because the stew is over salted.
“Oh, he sure is, he was a childhood friend of mine,” while speaking, the drunk man waves at a barmaid and points to Arvalyn's ale when she looks at him.
Before running to her duties, Elaryn turns to Tavyth, and they pull her into a quick embrace.
“Stay safe, songbird,” they say after they plant a kiss on the top of Elaryn's head. She pulls away from the embrace and starts turning so she can help with the wraiths, knowing Tavyth is already mirroring her movements.
“Only if you promise to do the same, darling,” Elaryn calls behind her.
Meet Tavyth (they/them) and Elaryn (she/her)
They are two of the four main characters in my WIP debut novel Wrath of the Wraith. WotW is a political dark fantasy feautring lots of magic (especially necromancy!) that will be released late next year. Blurb on my blog 🥰🪦⚰️👻
