Loki smiled softly, nodding his head “true and they have so many different varieties, maybe I’ll buy some the next time I go to the store.” He thought before nodding his head ‘I suppose that makes the most sense, I just wonder with one as brilliant and aware as you if you ever feel a longing for something is missing?”

Vision smiled softly. “You’ll have to tell me how you like them,” he said. “Mr. Stark prefers Chips Ahoy.” He gave another soft smile and delicately shrugged his shoulders. “Only when it comes to my family,” he said. “When I am away from them for too long, I do miss them. But material things, it’s different. Even food.”

Peter nodded, taking it in stride. Everyone was some kind of made even if it wasn’t in the strictest set of terms, technically he was too. His father having made the effort to impregnant whoever he can (rip all his lost siblings). Rocket was pure made too, even Gamora was made by that sonofabitch Thanos, so he accepted it with ease (and kindness, though Peter didn’t like attaching that word to himself so cavalierly). “Wait- really?” Peter hadn’t realized it was so close. A 16 hour drive was nothing to him, and if the ship was working they’d make it there probably faster then a car. “Uh well,” He rubbed his neck. “Sorta? It’s kinda confusing. I am technically half alien but I sorta lost that half? So I’m pretty human as they come except for DNA, I think.” He never got much of a checkup after that whole Ego situation so it was still a whole ton of questions. “Actually scratch the ‘kinda’ part out. it’s a whole lot of confusing.”

Vision tilted his head as the man in front of him spoke, his brow furrowing. He was no stranger to complex situations -- it wasn’t as though his own story didn’t have some very complex elements to it, starting with the fact that he had begun his existence...or whatever one called it, in his case...as an AI program created to help Mr. Stark. “It’s alright,”he said, with a little smile. “I suppose existence is confusing in general, from what I understand. My two boys are created from magic, after all.”

Loki smiled softly at the other as his enthusiasm shined through at his answer “I have heard that as well, it’s very interesting the different types of food the humans have made. I shall have to try one, someday.” he mused before frowning “That’s horrible, it must be strange that everyone around you can eat but you can’t?”  the question merely curious about the other make up given he’d never really seen many robots in his lifetime.

Vision smiled brightly at him. “I think you should,” he said. “After all, they must have remained so popular for so long for a reason, one would think.” He smiled a little and shrugged. “I suppose it would be more difficult if I had a point of comparison,” he said. “I have never been able to eat, so I don’t really know what I’m missing.”

“I’ve already forgiven you. I told you that. —- Maybe you just haven’t forgiven yourself.”

“You’ve done nothing but lie to me. So give me a reason why I should believe you, now.”

“I just got out of this… whatever the hell this is. I’m not going to let you pull me right back in.”

“I can see right through you. I can see how much this hurts you… even if you don’t want to admit it.”

     Wally suppressed his giggle at the wording the other chose to use to explain that gum does, in fact, leave the body, but a small smirk in amusement still managed to grow as the redhead nodded. “Well that’s comforting to hear considering how much gum I’ve accidentally swallowed over the years - pro tip for you, don’t chew gum if your powers make you run really fast, trust me, never a good idea” he snorted. “They probably appreciate it a lot more than you know”

Vision smiled briefly when Wally smirked, though he didn’t fully understand why. Apart from pop culture, uncouth humor was the thing that confused him the most. He didn’t understand why bodily functions were so funny. Perhaps he would get it better if he actually had any. “My powers don’t make me run fast,” he said absently. “I can fly, though. And phase through walls. Among other things.” He smiled softly. “I hope so. I would do anything to make them happy.”

“You sound like my friend Damian. Maybe I should check if he’s a robot. Is robot okay to say?” she asked. She didn’t want to offend him after all. “What’s your favorite show to watch?” she asked. “I’m really into like murder mystery shows unsurprisingly. It’s funny watching the people make all this fake ghost content. Real ghosts can’t STAND it” she chuckled.

Vision smiled. “Robot is not offensive,” he said. “Although if you are looking to be specific, I am a synthezoid.” He smiled again as she spoke. “My wife and I like to watch older programs,” he said. “Sitcoms from the 50s, programs of that nature. I like Dick Van Dyke.” He gave a little chuckle. “I don’t think I have ever met a ghost, but I would not be surprised if they would be offended.”

     “I’m pretty sure not even humans are supposed to eat gum, dude…” Wally couldn’t help but chuckle. “Messes up our inner workings too, supposedly. My Dad used to tell me that it would be stuck in my stomach for years which from what I can tell is not so good” he shrugged. “It’s sweet that you still cook for your loved ones even though food isn’t something you need to survive, though. That’s love for sure” Wally beamed. Doing something for somebody without any hopes of gaining from the experience wasn’t seen often enough around here. 

Vision shrugged. “That is actually not true,” he said. “While it is correct that the gum will not be broken down and digested, the way other foodstuffs would be, it does not stay lodged in your stomach. Rather, it passes through your digestive system and...” He paused, thinking of a pleasant way to describe it. “Exits, the way anything else would.” Vision smiled brightly as the younger man spoke. “I like doing things for them,” he said. “I like helping anyone, but especially making my family happy.”

       Wanda felt the warmth creeping up her cheeks before she could stop the blush that was surely reddening her features. Vision had always been able to make her feel like she was special, like the most beautiful woman in the world. “How?” she whispered curiously, eyes shinning as she looked at the love of her life.

Vision smiled as he watched a blush rise in Wanda’s cheeks, knowing that a blush was often a good sign -- it seemed that, at least in this context, it was a positive thing, and he had made her happy. He loved few things better than making Wanda happy. He took her hand and placed it against his cheek, holding it in place. “Can’t you feel me?” he said. “I know you can. And since that is the case, surely you must be overwhelmed by how beautiful you are. I certainly am.”

“Here, like earth? Like born, raised or uuuhh made?” Was that inappropriate? Technically everyone was made in one way or another, a ton of different things made them both physically and metaphorically. “Okay got it got it,” He didn’t mean to insult the guy, but he seemed all pouty now. Or was that his natural face? Either way Peter wanted to try his hand at cheering him up. “I’m from Missouri, but I was raised up there.” Peter pointed to the sky. “Not one of those long building-ish-things,” And boy were they big. “I mean in space.”

Vision smiled a little at the question. “Made,” he said. “I am not a human being, strictly speaking.” Or at all, but the caveat was intended to soften the strangeness of the words just a little bit. Vision tilted his head as he considered this information. “Missouri is quite far from here,” he said. “It is approximately a 16 hour drive.” Vision looked up at the sky for a moment before glancing back at Peter. “You are not an alien?” he said, though it was a question.

Loki found he enjoyed spending time with Vision; it was strange to even think that the male wasn’t really human and had little need for some of the basic human things. Of course he found that making friends with Wanda Vision tended to follow. “You’re welcome” he mused, taking some of the bags from the other looking down at the food “I can’t say I ever have, is that chocolate sandwich cookie correct?” He mused turning to look at him “Can you have any food Vision?”

“Yes!” Vision smiled brightly, pleased that they had made a connection, even over a rather simple thing. He was always happy to be able to converse with someone, period, but especially over something they both understood. “From what I understand, there are different varieties, including the amount of creme filling.” He shook his head. “No,” he said. “I had a piece of gum once, and it rather demolished my internal structure.”

Maxine smirked, lightly punching Vision’s arm. “Oh don’t worry about it. I didn’t mean you Vis. I mean…do you even like to party?” she asked him. It wasn’t like he drank or ate. And she had never seen him dance. “Actually….what do you do for fun?” she questioned as she realized she never seen him really do much of anything.

Vision smiled softly and shrugged. “Well, socializing is difficult for me, because I don’t usually understand the references or jokes that people make,” he said. “I was learning them, but then I died. Again.” He smiled brightly. “I like to watch television,” he said. “It helps me to learn about pop culture. Which is rather a lot, you know.”

Pietro sighed of course Vision wouldn’t listen to him no matter what he said “it’s not dangerous so much a very strange villain seemed to have taken a liking to my quick speed.” He mused looking behind him maybe they’d finally given up on chasing him when he actually used his speed to get away. “It’s touching your family loyalty really but let’s get to the bonding stage a bit before we go full protection mode eh bro?”

“Where?” Vision frowned, looking around again. “Is he coming after you?” He frowned once more, giving a little shake of his head. “There is no bonding necessary,” he said, his eyes widening slightly. “You are important to Wanda, so you are important to me. You are family. That is all that I have to know.” He smiled at him. “Of course, I would certainly be happy getting you to know better, Pietro.”

“so we didn’t reschedule all the Halloween parties? we just cancelled them? where’s the spirit in that? Do you know how long it took me to get my hair this perfect for this costume? I’m Aaliyah, and before you ask yes  I got her permission to be her for Halloween. she was honored at the tribute.” Maxine ranted when she realized she was the only one dressed up. “you guys are more dead than the ….dead. I know. Come on let’s get you in a costume. Who cares if it’s November?” @fallengothamstarters​

Vision considered. “I have died three times,” he said, and then paused, considering once more. “Four? Yes, I’m sorry, I have died four times.” He smiled faintly as she spoke. “Technically, I am wearing a costume. This is not how I naturally look. But my genuine appearance can be off-putting to some people, considering the societal importance placed on conventional beauty.”

Vision smiled at Loki, looking over at him. He was glad to see that Loki was working to make a better life for himself. He knew the man in front of him had certainly been up to no good in the past, but he believed that everyone could change for the better. “Thank you,” he said. He shifted the grocery bags in his arms, letting Loki take one. Of course, he didn’t eat himself, but his wife and their sons did, so he bought treats for them. “Do you like Oreos?” he said curiously. “I’ve never had any.”

“Hey hey, cool it. No harm no fowl.” Well there was harm surrounding them but that was more because of the fear gas then anything the other guy did. All he did was some mad phasing trick. Peter had a lot of tricks that would scare Terrans too, some of them were his fricken team itself. “That dude probably saw you as a monster or something.” Peter tried to reassure. “Or they were xenophobic, who knows.” Lots of Terrans didn’t like aliens too much after all. “No no you are not ghosty at all man! Though I’m not sure what planet you’re from, Krylorian maybe?” Though  Krylorians usually had pink skin, not red. 

Vision frowned a little at the idea of someone thinking that he was a monster. He had been created to protect the world, after all. He didn’t think he looked that scary, but perhaps it was just phasing through the wall that had alarmed them. Wanda was forever telling him to use doors instead, but sometimes he forgot. “No,” he said, frowning a little. “I am from here.” He considered. “Mr. Stark created me here, after all. Well -- not here, in New York.”

Raven should’ve expected something like this but of course she hadn’t felt the need to play hero in the longest time. But these people needed help and it seemed as though the gas had dissipated around this area and she’d yet to see any rogues running around. “I am just a couple scratches from trying to disarm some of these people.” She mused after all this was when she started using her powers keeping people far away from her. “I was just trying to get that family to safety but holding off these people is taking most of my focus.” She mused before looking at the other “if you don’t mind lending a hand and getting them out of that building then I can help you look for your family after.”

Vision nodded as Raven spoke. “Oh, yes, of course,” he said. “Give me a moment, please.” He phased through the wall and appeared in front of the family. “Hello,” he said politely. “Don’t be afraid. I’ve come to help you.” He wrapped his arms around them and drifted upward, flying toward a safety zone just a couple of blocks away. He returned a few moments later, landing lightly in front of Raven. “What else do you need me to do?” he said earnestly.

      Wanda had been wandering through Gotham, trying to process her overwhelming grief when she found herself face to face with the ghost of him. There was no one directly responsible for Vision’s death this time, no one but her and her continuous inability to save the man she loved. It was a curse - one that she still hadn’t been able to break despite her best efforts. The mutant thought that she had cried all she could, eyes still red and puffy from the tears that had created a river down her cheeks. It wasn’t until she saw the apparition of her husband claiming not to be a ghost that she realized she had more tears to cry, feeling their light touch as they rolled down her cheeks. “I’m so sorry.” Wanda sobbed, holding her face in her hands. “I couldn’t save you. I tried and I failed every time.”

Vision froze as he saw Wanda start to cry, his heart -- or what passed for his heart, considering he didn’t possess the physical muscle -- tightening painfully at the clear display of her distress. “My darling, no,” he murmured, knowing at once what she was seeing. After all, this fear had come to pass more than once in their lives already, and Vision himself certainly felt it. In fact, if he was capable of being impacted by the gas, he was sure he would be seeing much the same thing as she was. “Wanda, listen to me,” he murmured, gently touching her wrist. “I am here. You are being affected by the fear toxin.” He took her hand from her face and placed it against his own. “Can’t you feel me?” he said. “I’m right here.”
