The beautiful thing as you get older is that you realize so many “rules” are made up and you can just do whatever. Posters can go anywhere in the house not just my room. I can sit down while cooking a meal or taking a shower. I can make the same thing for breakfast lunch dinner for a week straight. I can roam around the house shirtless. I can wear a dress with jeans. The world is my oyster key word my and I can live as I please embracing little things such as this

I feel like people forget that the biggest difference between Ed in the 2003 Anime and Ed in Brotherhood is that 03 Ed stays extremely selfish throughout while in BH Ed learns to be Selfless

03 ed?? selfish?? the same ed who gives us lines like "there will never be a war that isn't in some part caused by all of us" "[getting our bodies back] would mean nothing if it came at the expense of so much pain" "even when our eyes are closed, there's a whole world out there that lives outside ourselves" in ONE scene alone?

or how about in conqueror of shamballa, where those beliefs are pushed further? where instead of ed being the selfish one, al instead opens the gate and (accidentally) causes the deaths of countless people in the process, and ed has to stand against the idea of sitting back and watching the horrors unfold like he did before with liore, where he says "none of us were looking to start a war, but a war is what we got, so all of us take the blame"

sure, bh ed's selflessness is more tactile - he gave up the use of alchemy in order to save al. but 03 ed learned that his own personal desires don't have some higher importance compared to the lives of strangers, even people he might not ever get to know like the lives of the ishvalans trapped in the philosopher's stone. the lesson he learned was not just that he had to give up something in order to save his brother, something he already did before the show even started when he sacrificed his arm for him.
