‘Doctor Sleep’ by Stephen King!

Can’t wait to see what you do with this book! There’s just so many ways for this book to be an ability.

Doctor Sleep is an ability that grants its user the power to make a psychic connection with one person, this connection cannot be broken by anyone but the user and can cause the person the ability is used on to receive certain attributes from the ability user if the connection is kept for a long period of time

The pros are that the ability allows for communication across any space or environment and is entirely private. As there is no limit on how long the connection can last the ability user can switch between people at will in order to organise a wide range of people

I can also see this power evolving to allow the user to simply say “from hell” aloud and summoning a bunch of demons to attack anyone who registers as an enemy of the user and heard the phrase.

Original BSD ability “From Hell” by the supposed real Jack the Ripper

Based on the letter written in blood believed to be sent from the real Jack the Ripper as a taunt to the police. And the theory that Jack was actually a faceless demon sent from hell to punish the sinners of Whitechapel.

This one is a bit of a difficult one to come up with an ability for since it doesn’t really have any themes to speak of, but I think I’ve got something

From Hell is an ability that allows its user to summon a demon like creature to attack a person who reads a letter sent to them by the user. In order for the ability to work the letter must contain the phrase ‘From Hell’

The pros of the ability are that the activating phrase doesn’t need to be immediately obvious in the letter, the victim needs to only read it so it could be hidden within the words of the user wanted to be subtle. As well as this the ability is useful for catching people of guard so it can be difficult to fend off

Now I wish it was in the anime!! This ability and whatever poor fool who has it would be a killer addition!!!

Fall of the House of Usher is an ability that allows its user to foretell the death of a person by receiving ‘warnings’ in the form of ominous events of varying intensity depending on how close the death is and how the death will occur

The pros of this ability are that if the user has enough control they can pick whose death they foretell, and even prevent it if they are able to understand the warnings correctly

Short name for the ability: The White Ape

I will admit this one is a bit of a tricky one, there’s a couple of themes that can be drawn on so I’m going to go in a bit of a different direction than the obvious

Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family allows its user to gain any sort of knowledge on an event or person by touching a related object as long as the event or person they seek to gain knowledge on is relevant to them.

The pros of this ability are that there’s no limit on the kind of information that can be gained, so the user may be able to figure out who used a weapon or when just by picking up said weapon. It also means the user may be able to preempt certain events if they get the right knowledge

The Maker of Gargoyles is an ability that allows its user to transform two people within a certain range into gargoyles that will attack indiscriminately. The user must stay with in a certain vicinity in order for the ability to work

The pros are that there’s no limit on who can be turned into a gargoyle only the number of people, if two are already transformed then the transformation of a third will automatically turn the first back into a human. The gargoyles received enhanced strength and durability depending on the person transformed

I wonder if “The Wolf Leader” is the name of that unnamed werewolf infection ability?

The Wolf Leader would be an interesting name for the werewolf ability but I’m going to go for something a bit different

The Wolf Leader is an ability that allows its user to pluck out the hairs on their head and transform them into wolves under their command

The pros are the wolves are completely loyal and cannot be swayed away from whatever is commanded of them, as well as this the number of wolves is only limited by the amount of hair on the users head

The Count of Monte Cristo allows its user to take on a disguise, however this disguise can only be taken in an act of revenge

The pros of this ability are that the user is completely unrecognisable to the targets of their vengeance until they reveal themselves. Others may recognise the user but any attempts to inform targets will not be believed. The user also becomes almost supernaturally lucky in acts concerning their revenge
