To be fair, Random GOP Congressman is not the same level as McConnell, who in turn is not the same level as Trump. Every time Trump disappears for more than a few days, people have been ALL OVER it (not least since we are all, of course, so hungry for him to finally eat shit and die). You really can't keep the president of the US totally out of sight for more than a week before somebody somewhere is going to notice, and while they will doubtless try to stall as long as possible, they can't get away with it indefinitely. It would, however, be grimly hilarious to watch Vance try to act like a Great Statesman (TM).

I’ve decided every time I read some stupidity like “he was obviously in the LWOM for ten years before meeting Emma,” I’m going to compress the known timeline of his age a little bit more.

I’ve got him down to fifteen years and three months to Emma’s seventeen. I can probably shave off a little more so that they celebrate his fifteenth birthday after getting together.

But then I actually rewatched/reread the episodes to make the tightest timeline I could and realized that a lot of the time markers I thought I remembered didn’t exist. For example, I thought he’d said that the jewelry store heist was months before; he didn’t, only that he thought the heat had died down. Or that he or Wendy specified that he’d hidden in the Darlings’ house for six weeks—onscreen they said only “weeks,” which could be as few as two.

And of course all his skills of petty thievery, lockpicking, and shmoozing authority figures translated from his six months on the streets in Edwardian London (which WAS an onscreen time stamp). The only new things he’d have to learn were driving and hot-wiring a car, both of which a quick study can get in one afternoon.

And the thing is…if Neal actually WAS very young, not years but months out of Neverland when he met Emma…well, the whole story makes a lot more sense, doesn’t it? Neal’s gullibility, his caving to August—if Neal was fifteen, August at twenty-four WOULD seem like an authority figure. If Neal had JUST escaped Neverland and it came crashing down an only few months later…it would make more sense for him to give up. He would think there was no way he could escape magic. And if his mind set was still that of a peasant/urchin…he’d feel keenly that he could never be with a lost princess.

Being fifteen/sixteen even explains the mustache.
