"It can be, but, it's also nice to meet people from other worlds, try to expand my horizons a little bit I suppose." Andras smiled faintly before nodding. "I do. I can't say I was a necessity to..anyone. So they can definitely manage. I did my job." Nodding, he listened to her explain about her missing family with interest, frowning a little. "Hopefully you'll be reunited soon, either here or in your home. You didn't have magic in your world? It must be...easier, at times. Not having to deal with that side of things. But do you at least like it here?"
"That is true, some of the stories I've heard have been incredible" though that wasn't new to her. Giselle had been from another world after all. That was a little harder to explain though, and perhaps for later down the line. Least she hoped there was a later down the line. "Is it only about doing a job? I miss my sister, and she was a baby who couldn't do anything" yet anyway, she'd be absolutely fine, but that wasn't the point. "Hopefully so. No, magic didn't exist in mine" well technically true, it had never come from there, "does that mean you had it in yours?" now that was far more interesting. "Of course, or least I like the people here".

"So, before you come in...I should warn you..there's a dog in here?"
Nico didn't really mean to end up with a pet, honestly thinking he'd be terrible with animals. He made people uncomfortable so he more than expected that would extend to pets. So he'd always avoided, and yet..
"It was raining and he hid outside my place and I let him in so he wouldn't get cold. And now he wont leave. So...if you're allergic to..large dogs, maybe we should go out and about today?"
There had been many things he was expecting Nico to say when he arrived, however that hadn't been in his top ten of possibilities. Yet somehow he also wasn't that surprised. Then again, from what he had learnt, Nico's father had a pretty famous dog.
"Wouldn't I be allergic to all dogs? I don't know if size affects allergies" probably not the point. "I'm not either way, though I think this now means you have a pet dog. Unless he has a tag?"
Closed Starter ⟶ Ella & Christopher (@violentdelightstheseviolentends)
There's something special about this time of day, he's noticed it creeping in every minute. Like a gentle rainfall approaching. Christopher's mind was preoccupied as he stepped hurriedly towards the grocery store. Already chastising himself with letting his food run low. He suddenly determined that it was the books and research paper's fault. A body blocked his path and he tried to move around, only managing to clip the other's shoulder instead. "Sorry." He mumbled, his brows furrowed as he realized he was the impatient one. "I should probably look up every once in awhile, right?" His eyes finally traveled up to meet the other with baited breath.
It was far later than her shift was meant to end, but when you were barely affording to get by paycheck to paycheck, there was little Ella could do but take every hour that was available. She had only stopped for a moment to take a breath, try to ground herself a little before she headed home. None of this made a lot of sense, and she just wish she could find anyone from home, even her stepmother right now would be a welcomed sight. Though in truth, the only person she wanted to see was Chris. So lost in those thoughts, she hadn't realised someone had come close to her until they bumped into her. "No, it's my fault, I shouldn't have stopped in the middle of the..." she started before really seeing who was there. "Chris..." it looked like him, but something felt very, very wrong.
"I’m not arguing. Just enthusiastically debating." (sherlock & any)
"Is that what you're calling it?" Marius asked, not really believing it, but he supposed different people had different definitions of things. Who was he to judge for that. "It might be best to agree to disagree... or agree to not debate?" was that a term, he didn't really believe it, but it was better than an argument neither of them actually wanted.

"Yeah well, I'm not one to carry a purse around, otherwise I'd have done just that," Mavuika said with a chuckle as she took back her house keys and tucked then back into her pocket. "Are you that bored you pickpocket people and give it back?"
"They're remarkably useful things, genius to have zips" something he thought more things needed, they least made it more of a challenge for him. "Indeed I am. This island is very tedious, have to try and make our own entertainment, and doing that is far more exciting" besides it wasn't like he had ever found anything worth stealing. It was all just boring.
“ah, don’t give me the “reserved for heroes”. as i recall, the only things you had to do to be a god was pluck a few strings and fuck about with some cows.” james had loved the story as a kid in his real past life. the younger version of himself would be delighted to find himself so close to the god. older him was more delighted than he wanted to let on. “i’ll just have to tell good old zeus that we’re brothers, twins even, so it’s only natural that one should follow the other. i would be a fine addition to the pantheon, don’t you think?” james smirked, delighted at the very thought.
"Oh I absolutely would not use the word fuck when it comes to my family. In some cases they did fuck cows... or as a cow... heck one of mine had goat legs. Never did quite get how that happened" nor did he really want to know. Kids with mortals weren't really looked after all that well after all, unkind perhaps, but that was just how things were back then. Besides there had been nearly forty of them in the end. "True as that might be, I think Hera might smite you if she thought there was another of Zeus' brood running around".
"Sometimes. Rarely, if I'm honest, but sometimes." Declan didn't know why Aendras was so focused on this but, they were talking. And who knew when he'd ever get to hear his voice again. "It's more likely just a sign I'm going crazy, as the horse is one of very few beings I talk to at this point. But yes, animals are more sensible than people, if only because they don't let their emotions interfere with their own survival."
Declan was still for a long moment, just staring at the other as his Prince's next two statements were some of the most daft things he'd ever said and questioned. To think Declan wouldn't want to be around him because his arm didn't work anymore was absolutely ridiculous, much less that he could've fallen out of love with this impossible man.
Stepping closer, he lifts Aendras' hand to press against his chest, his own hand covering it and holding it close as he looks at him seriously. "Things might have been more complicated at home, but they weren't different, not for me. My love for you isn't so fickle that it would disappear simply because you lost a limb Aendras. And you ask me why as if those reasons could've changed? I fell in love with you for your heart, for your kindness to animals and people, your sensibility and your ability to make me smile even when the world seemed darker. I would've done anything for you even before you came and said what I now know were goodbyes and we gave our tokens. And that feeling hasn't changed for me. Never once. Even when you were shattering my heart by turning be away and refusing to see me again, the love stayed. It'll still be here till the moment I draw my last breath Aendras. I'll never have another."
"I don't believe that talking to animals is a sign of madness" besides, hadn't Declan always done that? Maybe not with Aendras's horse, but he was sure he had spoken to the horses in the stables. "I don't know about that, it's just they have a harder time of it to survive" least that was how it had felt when he was a swan. Although was that because he was still human inside? He wasn't sure, it had all been impossible.
Logically he should pull away. Sure he was still hopelessly in love with the other man, but he couldn't be. Not right now. It wasn't fair on Declan, not after everything that he had done. Besides, once he knew exactly what it was that had happened, he couldn't see why Declan would stay. He was a Prince, his only job was to be perfect, and he had failed.
"I didn't lose a limb... this world was kinder than ours" which felt odd to say, given that he had no use in his arm. That was still kinder than having a wing instead. He would never hold that against his sister, not after what she had been through. But that didn't make it easy. Not when he saw how people looked at him back then. A mix of horror and disgust, sometimes then remembering he was royalty and pity came into it. Frankly that was the one he hated the most. "That version of me hasn't existed for a long time now. I don't smile anymore, let alone making anyone else smile. And I avoid people rather than be kind to them" all he was now was a shadow, he knew that, a living ghost.
Keyleth shuts her eyes for a moment when she groans. “Oh, I was hoping that you’d say it wasn’t, but you didn’t.” She sighs and puts a hand to her forehead. “Okay! That’s reassuring…kind of? Um, no! I can fix it, or at least, I can try. Even if I make it worse, at least we’ll have the plumber on speed dial.”
"Sorry" he replied, wishing he could have given her better news, but knowing it was better to be honest than make up some half-truth. "Surely if you then had to call a plumber out because of it getting worse, it would end up being more expensive, than if you had done so originally?"
“You made dinner? Thanks, it smells really good.“ - Aron for Obi-Wan
“of course. just one of my many talents.” obi-wan smirked. he had enjoyed getting to know the other more. the jedi had secretly wanted to surprise the other with a meal for a while. he had let their relationship develop with no expectation, but he was enjoying their casual dates. obi-wan, as old as he felt he was, wasn't sure he had ever had the experience. it made him feel oddly young again. "i'm glad you came over. how was your day?" the jedi asked as he handed the other a plate.
@violentdelightstheseviolentends
"If that's true, you might never get rid of me" he teased, not that he would be too disappointed by that. Still he knew he was holding back a little, not because anything the other man had done, but from his own experience. He never regretted anything he had done, but he also knew if he acted in the same way here... it would be a little much. Coventry was definitely very different. "Well it was fairly standard, for a magical town, things are surprisingly normal. Least in my experience, you might be about to tell me your day was very different" how that worked he didn't know, not that he was opposed to normality. "You know, even calling it a talent is underselling how good this is" he added after taking a bite.

That was something she could appreciate, and understand. Sometimes there were those charging into battle, whether it was helpful or not. One didn't always have to get involved and truly, Natasha probably had been involved in far too many things for one lifetime. All causes she had come to believe in and none she'd ever wish to take back.
"Let me follow you. If you don't mind." He'd spotted it correctly. She wasn't going to get involved. "There are better causes for chaos than this." ❧ @violentdelightstheseviolentends
"That is your choice" he pointed out, if someone followed him that was always going to be their decision rather than his. Annoying perhaps, but it was up to them, and it wasn't as if he was defenceless if it did turn nasty. "Oh I do not intend to move any further away. I may not be getting involved, but I can still enjoy the spectacle".
i'm just happy you still call. - Alejar for Hane
"well of course i do." hane furrowed her brow and the other and gave a small, confused laugh. "alejar, you're one of my best friends, and one of my only friends from our past. you can't get rid of me so easily." she teased with a light nudge to his shoulder. "i'm sorry if i haven't done so in a while. i was reunited with idris and i've been making sure he's okay." hane explained, hoping the other would understand.
@violentdelightstheseviolentends
"I'm definitely not trying to get rid of you" that was the last thing he wanted. Things were just so confusing right now, he didn't want to let go of his life here, or his old life... which was what made it all so confusing. "Is he ok?" that was a relationship he understood, even if he didn't know how the Clone Wars had ended for them. Hopefully better than his own.
“No. You can’t solve every household issue with duct-tape.” - Barry & Anyone
"well, i think your wrong." alicent instantly argues with a bright smile on her face, clearly all jokes. she knew it was less than ideal, but she wasn't handy. she paid for people to come fix this for a reason. but sure, things happened. and the small sink leak she had wasn't that bad. she could wait for it to get a bit worse. "i'm not paying someone to fix a small sink leak, so duct-tape has to be the best case scenario."
@violentdelightstheseviolentends
"Probably" Barry might have known he was smart, but that was specific smarts, not necessarily about household problems. Sure he could read a book on it and usually deal with things, but easier said than done. "Ok, but what if the small leak then builds up, and the duct-tape isn't strong enough to hold back all that pressure, and then bam, bigger problem".
finn frowned, slightly worried. "oh, i can help you look if you're worried?" he offered, now looking around as well for any signs of an animal. he knew he would be worried if it had been his family's dog that has escaped or wandered off. he didn't want the other to fear over losing him if he could help it. "what's he look like? i can keep an extra set of eyes out if you call him?" he suggested.
"I'm more worried he's broken into someones house and is eating their sausages" it honestly wouldn't surprise him at this point. He had done his best, but it was hard to undo all the spoiling his family had done. "He's a Basset Hound, answers to the name Percy. Will probably find your feet very comfortable if you're a decent person",
@violentdelightstheseviolentends || where i'm from and what i'm worth have gotten too damn intertwined. - Ash to Spider
Spider stared at her for a long moment, thinking through the words carefully before sitting next to her. "Those two things have always been intertwined for me. Still are really, even if it's a little different now. I know how that feels. Is there...is there something I can do to help?"
"I'm just thinking aloud" she replied, not really knowing how to explain it. Champion to the Gods... but the reality was she was just a normal mortal who had been thrown into a world that was too big for her. She was never going to have made it out of that alive, she wasn't special enough for that. "Nothing important, it's fine".

some things live forever, even when they die. - Belinda for Fourteenth Doctor
"You say that like it would be a good thing...." Over all those Centuries, the Doctor had learned that the people from Earth were way more fascinated with immortality than any other species in space he had encountered. They wanted to live forever. To stay young forever. To defeat death no matter the cost. And the older he got, the more he wanted to scream at them that this was more a curse than a blessing.
"Some things should better stay dead, if you ask me. Because everything else only means trouble on the long run."
@violentdelightstheseviolentends
"I meant more like ideas than actual living beings. Or love, love should always live" and a world without it would be a dark place indeed. She was sure she had seen worlds like that, it wasn't something that she ever wanted. It was odd though, there was something slightly familiar about his face, like she'd seen it in an advert or something.
"Although, I had a friend once... he was very old, and he was wonderful" wasn't he? She had believed that, but with her memories now so jumbled, she was more confused than anything else.
"Hm, well, I hope they pay you well as you're quite good at it." Cael chuckled a little before his expression shifted to a smirk. He couldn't say he was entirely comfortable with the direction this conversation was going, but surely he could scrounge up something he liked that wasn't related to his physical appearance. Maybe. "I'm not allowed? Alright mother." He chuckled a little before shrugging. "I'm good at thinking on my feet, and am rather adaptable when I need to be. See? Plenty of positive thoughts."
"Depends what you mean by paid well" but she wouldn't change her job for anything. She loved what she did, it was just the hours she tended to have a problem with. Not a lot that she could do about that. Though at that she raised an eyebrow. Poppy hadn't come up in conversation. She had been planning on it should anything have happened, but before then it was better to keep her private life, private. Now with her memories, it was all so complicated, and she didn't know which reality was the real one. "Mmm evidently" still she could agree, it had been a fast answer. "Plenty?"
