And so I cried....sadness overcame me as I realize, he is coming home, but only to say “See You Later” in 72 hours...then I don’t know when he will be coming home again. As a Marine Mom, this is my life....and I love him always and wouldn’t have it any other way.

As a Mom, you never realize the day will come when you are no longer needed. You are only needed when they need something from you. Not when they want to share something or just say Hi! It truly hurts....I miss being their Mom!

I am going to be an empty nester to a point...my children will be gone, but I will care for my mom. She is not really an invalid...just lazy. She prefers to be on her bed and not a member of society. I could never do what she does. In the past 11 years she has lived with me...I have had my knee fixed, off work for 2 weeks. Colostomy, off work for 8weeks...reversal surgery and off work for 8 weeks...and during all of this I have taken care of my family, cooked and cleaned and did laundry etc...I am not a person who can be sedentary. I am physically tired but can't stop and do nothing. Now is my time to rip out the carpet and sand the floors....and paint the house, weed the flowers and build something!!'
