8 shocking things I believe
MARTIN CUMMINS as Tom Keller Riverdale (2017) Season 2 Episode 7: "Chapter Twenty: Tales from the Darkside"
Refreshing to stumble on a high bar, but attainable goal physique now that I’m back to the gym, intermittent fasting and keto. Would be very satisfied with a similar build.

Tumblr deleted my long ass rant while I was in the middle of writing it so you’re spared and will only get a summed up version
Long story short; your abs are supposed to be covered with a healthy, protective layer of fat. The shape Jason Momoa is in during his movies is achieved by a diet designed to lower his body fat to unhealthy numbers, dehydrating him and enhancing his abs with make up. This is what ripped, muscular, healthy person looks like on their off time. If you think this is a dad bod, for the love of everything that is holy, shut up and absolutely never comment on a man’s body ever again. I mean hell, you can still see his damn v-line, what fucking dad bod has that?!
Don’t believe me? Google some bodybuilders who are off their contest diet. The men who literally make a living for having defined muscles. For 360 days a year, they do not look like the way you think they do. During a bodybuilding contest, these men’s body fat is under 7%, they’re dehydeated and covered in fake tan that helps the muscles show up. And it’s literally only for that day, because it’s extremely unhealthy. Same goes for actors who are known for being ripped - they’re at their worst when they’re filming. This exact same shit happened with Vin Diesel few years ago with people getting a paparazzi shot of his “beer belly” and I’m genuinely worried of the young men who grow up in this society thinking being muscular means having defined abs 24/7.
Jason Momoa looks ripped and healthy, yall are just blind with unrealistic standards.
“This is what actors (& models & bodybuilders) do. If you see them with razor cut abs, they have been on a low carb, water-reducing diet to get there. You cannot retain that and be healthy. When we shot WOLVES, Jason asked me, “Do I have to have abs n’ shit for this?” I said no.”
- David Hayter, director, Wolves
“The wood chopping scene in The Wolverine was all the footage they could get before Hugh Jackman passed out from dehydration. Dehydration and steroids are the big secret behind Hollywood muscle definition.”
- My name is Grant
“Yeah there was a huge piece a few years ago about the prevalence of doping in the aftermath of Dark Knight (roughly), it became an arms race of every male actor going on roids for definition. Compare Jackman in XMen 1 from 2000 to him in Logan, for example.”
- Kuff ‘n’ Klout
“The Hollywood roid phenomenon in one picture”

I like how they call starvation and dehydration a “trick” :)))))))))
I KNOW. Fucking killed me. “There’s this neat trick where we encourage disordered eating and dehydration. That’s what bodies should look like!!! This is the Norm!!”
Wait so that text wasn’t from a criticism of abusive practices?? It was just “here’s how we did this neat-O special effect!!!!!” ???!???
Thought was timely to reblog this with all the flack R Patz is getting for choosing not to work out right now. You may not like him, but the man had a point.
A few official stage shots. Lots to learn, but for a first try I’m happy.
Congratulations on achieving your goal to compete. Blown away by the results of your perseverance and dedication!
Isn’t this Sergi Constance?
Walking to the kitchen, creeping on myself
I imagine/fantasize that when guys reach this level of progress even they are surprised by their transformation.
Please ignore the face. This is me currently.
Wow. Cutting is going VERY well. I need to find the discipline myself.

Putting in work
Delt envy.
Sleep apnea
So I was diagnosed with quite severe sleep apnea a few months back (72 episodes of apnea an hour, on average! my blood oxygen levels through the night were under 90, sometimes under 80, and I only got 16 minutes of REM sleep in the whole 8 hours I was out).
I started with a cpap, and after the initial week or so getting used to it, it quickly became an utter necessity. I can’t believe how I was dragging my ass around before. My energy levels and focus are just… night and day. I guess the situation develops so gradually that everything just seems normal even though you are severely impaired in your ability to function. It isn’t normal to always feel like you could fall asleep if you just close your eyes for a minute.
I’m not a mass monster. I’m 215 lbs at 6′. However, that was enough to give me apnea so severe that it significantly harmed my quality of life, and would have significantly reduced my life expectancy had it gone untreated.
If you’re just like, kinda big, and people tell you you’re a loud or restless sleeper, or you just feel tired a lot… go get a sleep study! You can get a take home one that is much more natural than one in a lab.
I’ve come to believe that early mortality in bodybuilders is likely just as much due to untreated sleep apnea as it is to steroid abuse. I was literally suffocating on my own meat every night. Serious cardiac problems were inevitable if the situation was not addressed.
It’s really important!
I can attest this is all true. I’ve had my cpap for over a year.
Everything You Know About Obesity Is Wrong
So many images in articles about obesity strip fat people of their strength and personality.
According to a recent study, only 11% of large people depicted in news reports were wearing professional clothing. Nearly 60% were headless torsos.
So, we asked our interview subjects to take full creative control of the photos in our story “Everything You Know About Obesity Is Wrong.” This is how they want to present themselves to the world:
“As a kid, I thought that fat people were just lonely and sad—almost like these pathetic lost causes. So I want to show that we get to experience love, too…. I’m genuinely happy. I just wish I’d known how possible that was when I was a kiddo.”— Corissa Enneking
“There is so much agency taken from marginalized groups to mute their voices and mask their existence. Being depicted as a female CEO—one who is also black and fat—means so much to me…. I own all of this.”— Joy Cox
“I think some folks are genuinely surprised that a man who looks like him is with a woman like me… I thought that taking the photo in public would be a good idea. It feels subversive to show my fat body doing regular stuff the world believes I don’t or can’t do.” — Emily
“I don’t want to be portrayed; this is not about me. It’s about that guy you always see on the far treadmill at the gym. Or the lady who brings the most beautiful salads to work every day for lunch. It’s about the little girl who got bullied because of her size, and the little boy who was told he wasn’t man enough. It’s not about me, but had it been about me when I was that chubby little girl, maybe I wouldn’t be standing here, head against the door, wondering if I’m enough.”— Erika
“My weight makes me anxious…. At the same time, my brain starves for attention. I want to be onstage. I want to be the one holding a microphone. So, I decided to split the difference with this photograph: to perform and to obscure.”— Sam (not his real name)
“My son and I both like to play the hero. There wasn’t necessarily any intentional symbolism in the costumes we chose, but I am definitely a member of the rebellion, and I see my role as an eating disorders researcher as trying to fight for justice and a better world.”— Erin Harrop

Don’t mind my grumpy face.
Off cycle and weighing in at a relatively fluffy 223.
Focused on pulling with my chest today during flies and boy did the pump kill me.
Holy shit! I was sure this was a morph.
