What we’re drinking: Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Ah, acidity. How I love thee. I’m usually not a huge fan of Kiwi wines, but I’ll make an exception for this one. There’s some nice citrus notes floating around here, plus a lingering finish that will leave your mouth puckering. Oyster Bay provides lots of notes about this vintage, but it’s seen no oak, and that metallic, mineral quality definitely shows. There’s a brightness and clarity to this wine that isn’t always present in other regions (looking at you, buttery Napa). If you can’t pair it with punk, oysters (obvi) might go quite well.

What we’re listening to: Against Me! Total Clarity Ahead of this band’s highly anticipated new album, I’ve been listening to a lot of the previous ones. As a fellow Floridian, Miami has always been a personal favorite and the citrus in this wine make it feel like home. Likewise, the sharpness to the music almost covers the acerbic lines that get screamed underneath — like the vino — but thankfully, you can hear and taste it all in perfect balance.
