I like depicting ShadowSalt as this one sided mess, but It's not one sided in the sense where one gives more of a crap about the other, but rather: one’s feelings are much more complex and obsessive (Shadow Milk) than the other (Silent Salt). 

But doesn’t that mean the same thing!? Well, let me put it like this: 

Both of them resent each other equally, I’d argue that Salt resents Shadow Milk a bit more. And both subconsciously long to be with each other, but in the “drag you down with me to the darkest depths of the oven” kinda way. Both of their feelings are complicated and have a similar but also opposite outlook on each other: 

What defines Shadow milk x Silent Salt + Ult! SM x Commander of Silence is betrayal. Both of them feel so deeply betrayed by each other and are doing everything they can to spite the other for it. They refuse to let the other from their grasp because they don’t want to lose each other. They just want to punish, destroy and validate themselves because they are the only person they can hate more than themselves (through both deeply despise the witches) 

The onesidedness stems from the feelings that aren't pure hatred and spite: 

Salt mentally separates Shadow Milk and Fount. He sees Shadow Milk as a heartless monster, but he still somewhat pities him. Shadow Milk reflects the false image of himself that he fears but accepts. A powerful Tyrant, an oppressive devil. He wants to relieve Shadow Milk’s suffering by silencing him, and bringing himself down with him. But just like with Fount, Salt thinks he has Shadow Milk all figured out, he’s just a bratty wicked child lashing out for attention he’ll never get. Salt doesn’t believe Smilk deserves that attention, after all if they don’t care about him, why would they care about that narcissistic abomination.

Another aspect is that Salt sees Shadow Milk as Fount’s murderer. A demon that has posssed Fount and has turned him into a hollow shadow of himself. In hindsight he learns to appreciate and adore Fount so much more after his corruption. He develops a terrible guilt complex realizing how much he overlooked him and didn’t cherish him and the other emissaries nearly enough as he should have. By killing the Beasts he believes he is avenging the emissaries. Guilt complex + Savior complex and Vengeance is a good combination that always ends well.

Salt sees Shadow Milk almost akin to an older brother seeing his younger brother, an annoying responsibility he can’t rid himself of. He is in grief over the version of him that he now deems as dead, and sees killing him as a mercy for him and the whole world. But he doesn’t love Shadow Milk, he loves Fount but only after he loses him. But he’ll never understand him, because he refuses to see him for who he truly is. 

Shadow Milk is the obsessive one in this relationship and his feelings are as complicated has he is. Shadow Milk envies Salt so bad, seeing him fall of from grace was astonshing to him. For the first time Shadow milk felt equal to him, knowing the Almighty Lord Commander had demons as well. But he didn’t know what these demons were, so he analysed, speculated and poked at him for anything he could get, but Salt was impossible to crack and this only made him more curious. So when Salt betrayed him it hurt more like anything he's ever felt, because he is reminded that he doesn’t know everything, that he’s lesser, that he’s wrong. 

Shadow Milk couldn’t let Salt out of his sight again, he was going to make him suffer beyond anything Salt can even comprehend. Having the Commander of Silence under his grasp was a gush to his heart and ego because now he finally has his knight under his control. He will force him to give him the loyalty, attention, and… love he deserves. All while knowing Salt has become twisted beyond repair and is suffering just as much as he is. He understands Salt now, the self hatred and spite and it frustrates him that how can someone so beloved and perfect can ever come to hate themselves!? But it's still very validating, for now he knows these feelings are mutual. 

Fount had a false and idealistic perception of Salt of Solidarity, it relieved him when meeting Silent Salt, but he knew his understanding was incomplete. He wanted Salt to see him so badly and to give him the attention his creators denied him of and it broke his heart with Salt would consistently leave him in the dark. So he’s done waiting, he will drag Salt into the darkness with him, and he doesn’t care if he can't see in the dark. But he doesn’t love him, perhaps he never really did, but he’s always been obsessed with him.

Thinking if Lord Commander would both over and underestimate Fount of Knowledge, and never having an accurate assessment of him. 

Fount would get so tense everytime he encounters him, Salt couldn't understand why, but he should probably encounter him less often in case he is making him uncomfortable.

He can sense that Fount is troubled by his relationship with cookies, but any time he would ask him about it, Fount could reassure him that he has everything under control He can sense that Milk is offended by his question despite trying to play it off cool, so he trusts his word, because he believes Fount knows best. 

I can see him being disappointed in Fount, but will never express it. Disappointed that Fount wasn’t able to answer his philosophical questions despite having “limitless knowledge”. He expects Fount to have the greatest possible judgement, but doubts that Fount has fully grasped the complexities of abstract concepts like Freedom and Friendship. But that's fine, Milk of Knowledge doesn't need to, and therefore is fine. He can handle himself, he knows himself better than anyone else. 

Salt of Solidary believes he has Fount all figured out. That his knowledge may be limited but his judgement is absolute. Fount is so proud of themself so why would he ever doubt his own capabilities? He has always been right about everything, if Fount believes that there is never room for errors that must mean he has never failed.  Fount would never lie to him, because Fount hates liars. Fount would never contradict himself because he is the Fount of Knowledge. 

I was wondering about if the boys knew about dungeons and dragons would they be offended or want to play it? And if they played it what would their classes and alignments be? Would jester or harlequin be the dungeon master? (I know they both love story telling).

I think they'd find it fun if they have the patience or understanding for it.

I doubt that Jester, Harlequin, or TicketTaker would be enthused to play. Pierrot would be SUPER confused, but honestly, Doctor might get into it.

Harlequin could also get into it if you flirt with him during the game.
