Today I made Bart’s orange almond cake. Baking takes thrice as long when you’re a food photographer/stylist. The early winter light shifts very quickly - I started at 11 am and, by the time the cake was done around 1 pm, the light was warmer and the sun was much lower. All in all, very happy with the photos and it’s a gorgeous cake. Added a bit of vanilla.Â
My food photography is normally very bright and sunny. I’m experimenting with going in the opposite direction, nighttime with a grittier vibe to it.Â
