Something that always revolves in my mind was a segment on the “we rate dogs” podcast where the host spoke about how there was a man from Gaza who had a dog and there was an organization who got in touch with him and created all these ways to get that dog out of Gaza safe and sound but never extended it towards him. I think about the fact that people would save a homeless persons dog rather than the homeless person. I think about the fact that people have more compassion for a wild animal compared to a black and brown body. I think about the fact that we’ve seen people ready and willing and leaping to an animals gofundme but get wary with a human beings. In naming HUMAN BEINGS I see no reason to name an animal you’re moving the goalpost and moving it away from the fact that my people are deemed LESS than a fucking animal so no I’m not going to extend that compassion.
