In the middle of a private commission at the moment, so sharing an old work in progress, showing now at the SSBA annual exhibition hosted by the @thescottishartsclub. Peony, Victorian Garden Double Red. Said goodbye to my painting of hosta “Blue Angel’ this week, it’s now winging its way to Sweden, safe travels! I worked the tiny veins on this countless times, melting them a little then going in with drier paint, to attempt to recreate their depth within the leaf, backlit by winter light.
