Do Not Let HR do this to you. It is not illegal to talk about wages in the work place. I did and got a 12% raise!
it's because you're always in that damn coffin
A large part of the reason families were bigger in the past was because marital rape was not considered rape and birth control/abortion methods were ineffective, dangerous and/or illegal. We can dance around this and act like our great great great grandmothers just loveddddd being mamas so much that they decided out of their own free will to have 11 children. We can pretend that they DECIDED to have big families because it was a financially advantageous decision so they could have more labor around the farm. But a lot of children in the past were fundamentally unwanted and not conceived out of love, children were not a choice women got to make. We need to admit that and stop pretending historical women were inherently more maternal because they were impregnated at the age of 15 and kept having babies until they were 40. That did not make them loving mothers, it did not make them ‘the divine feminine’ and it sure did not make them happy.

Mexico amends its constitution to cut the maximum workweek from 48 to 40 hours by 2030 and gives 13.5 million workers the legal right to ignore their boss’s calls, messages, and emails after their shift ends, in the most significant overhaul of Mexican labor law in a generation.
Mexico has rewritten its constitution to guarantee every worker in the country a shorter working week, a legal right to switch off from work after hours, and a guarantee that no employer can cut their pay in response, enacting in a single legislative package a set of labor rights that workers in wealthier countries have spent decades campaigning for without success.
There are companies trying to fight this because they wanted more work hours per week instead of less, despite Mexico being one of the countries with the longest legal work day (as in, without counting overtime, paid or otherwise). So far the only thing that's happened is that a compromise was reached to make this rollout go soft (reducing 2 hours/week per year until 2030) and iirc some regions (like mine) have asked for a time extension on top of that, probably because this change fucks with pre-existing B2B contracts (and because let's face it, companies don't want to have to ask for less from their workers).
But yeah, this is real and excellent news.
Happy Pride Month!!
We've got no money for our son's trans care!!!
Our last post
Hola, i'm Calli, a nonbinary mexican parent. Both my partner and I are chronically ill, we're the main providers for our family of 9, that includes his mom, dad and sister because they lost everything in a fire back in November 2023. TW for the house after the fire.
We are poor and unemployed, all adults have some chronic condition, chronic pain and we live constantly exposed to mold, rust and other issues the house has. The landlord does jackshit but sure comes to collect rent every now and then.
To top it off i have been getting harrassed by racist unkind people here, making me suicidal.
My blog's archive proving i have been here since 2013, the first post i ever reblogged.
https://chingaderita.tumblr.com/archive/2013/5
I sometimes share recipes too!
I have been offering spanish conversation classes online for $12 usd/hr. Right now im earning $12 a week, do you think I can support a family of 9 with that?
**I tracked down comments in notes ive made through the years, as far as 2016, I did all that even before this new tumblr update showing our comments so I did all that hard work for nothing lol, you can ask for links in my dm's this is already long enough as is.**
Our goal is to get our eldest's a couple of binders, his testosterone and medication he needs for a condition he needs a surgery for but we can't afford.
$0/$500
PAYPAL KOFI THRONE
*We made a throne to show some needs we have but usually don't get because we focus on food and bills, we're behind on rent and bills and need groceries so money would help us even more.
EDIT June 13th!!!
We have not made any of our above goals because my partner's dad tried to force a haircut on our trans daughter, I had to take our kids to safety and every donation got used on hotel rooms and meals.
We came back to a house without water supply, we can't flush, we can't wash, shower or clean.
And we haven't found any family who can take my father in law.
Right now we urgently need to get water, a haircut for our daughter, our eldest's testosterone and everything we hoped to achieve above in the original post.
Please, check the reblogs and I hope I made sense even with my 24hrs without sleep.
ANYTHING HELPS!!!!!
hey if your comment/reply begins like this, i think before you send it you should stop and think about if your comment will contribute to the conversation in a productive manner (spoiler: no)

white people are so fucking annoying like i’m still so mad about that person calling sinners “het slop” like, to watch sammie and pearline fall in love in a night and be separated by death within hours and then later see he named his bar/band after her all those years later
to see delta slim, who met sammie HOURS PRIOR and gave his life to make sure sammie was able to live and shine with his gifts forever
to see smoke and annie, separated by love and grief over the death of their infant daughter and united by the same things
to see stack and mary separated by the racial dynamics of their time and the dangers of society, given a second chance in death to walk the world together forever
to see grace fucking chow!!!! literally kill her husband and go down with him in flames because of the love for her daughter
to see sammie! sweet sammie moore the preacher boy who only wanted to play his music and let his light shine, unknowingly piercing the veil between life and death, inviting the ancestors and descendants to every party he plays, who was willing to die for the love of music and his freedom! who defeated the evil with the power of music and ancestry and got to LIVE!
to see smoke die in acceptance after slaying the kkk after fighting off vampires for the entire night and having to stab the love of his life in the chest, to see him reunite with her and their child after a night of horror
to see smoke and stack lovingly embrace and try to build a communal space for their community and family to be free of all struggles just for a few hours and be torn apart
to see ALL OF THIS and reduce the movie to, “het slop” is just insane and racist like there’s no other way to slice it

I'm going to share this as a separate post for those that missed the ask: A consensus handbook by Seeds for Change https://seedsforchange.org.uk/handbook is a free and very handy guide to how to take decisions as a group without leaders or hierarchies. I'm going to drop the chapters here to show off just how much useful stuff it has. If you work with consensus, there's almost certainly a problem in here that you recognize and wish you had some answers to!
1: Making decisions by consensus What’s wrong with the democracy we’ve got? - Why use consensus? How does consensus work? - The consensus process - Key skills and values for consensus 2: Facilitating consensus The role of meetings in group work - What is facilitation? - Facilitating a meeting – Making meetings accessible - Taking minutes 3: Facilitating consensus in large groups Meeting the conditions for consensus in large groups - Processes for large groups 4: Facilitating consensus in virtual meetings Why have virtual meetings? - The tools for the job - Challenges of facilitating virtual meetings - A consensus process for virtual meetings 5: Quick consensus decision making Preparing for quick consensus - How it works 6: Facilitation techniques and activities Starting the meeting - Regulating the flow of the meeting - Encouraging involvement - Techniques for problem solving and tackling difficult issues - Prioritisation techniques - Activities for re-energising - Evaluating meetings 7: Troubleshooting in your meetings Our meetings take a long time - Time pressure - Our meetings lack focus - Our group is large and we don’t enjoy meetings - We’re stuck and can’t reach a decision - Too many ideas - ‘Steamroller’ proposals - How can we deal with disruptive behaviour? - What to do when someone blocks - Our group is biased towards the status quo 8: Bridging the gap between theory and practice Conflict and consensus - The life cycle of a conflict - Ways of dealing with conflict - Techniques for inviting collaboration Power dynamics - Step one: What are our feelings about power dynamics? - Step two: Diagnosis – what is actually going on - in your group? - Step three: Where do your power imbalances come from? - Step four: Work out some ways to change your power dynamics Other common issues - External pressures - Open groups with changing membership - What if you’re the only person who wants the group to change? 9: Consensus in wider society So how might it work? - Challenges, questions and tensions - How do we get there? - A final thought
