Imagine watching a Layze video and realizing the place your ex-boyfriend kidnapped you to was so fucking bummy that it's a dilapidated house stock image.
Video: "You're not Morbidly Obese, You're SUPER MORBIDLY OBESE"
Y'all, I'm so curious, where did the aggressive af, control freak Tim come from??
I've been into crp on and off for years with it being more of a reoccurring phase and only recently checked out and interacted with the fandom. When I watched Marble Hornets for the first time last year, I was shocked at how kind and understanding Tim was.
His interactions with Jay after the 7 month timeskip for example. Jay can't lie worth shit, no way Tim didn't notice him stalking the antique shop he frequented, following him to his doctors appointment, and waiting outside the building for him. Yet, he was still polite with Jay, tried to help him with re-shooting Marble Hornets even with Jay's sketchy excuse, and agreed to meet up in a secluded area under a bridge to hand the tapes over. He went so far out of his way for someone who must've been the most untrustworthy guy imaginable.
Did it come from Tim decking Jay in the parking lot? Idk, bevause I feel like that was a perfectly understandable reaction. Tim had gotten 7 months of peace, finally able to hold down a job, finally getting his life together, and then Jay drags him all the way back into it. AND HE STILL HELPS JAY AFTER THIS.
He went around investigating with Jay, and iirc Jay got knocked out by The Operator when they were at Alex's old house and Tim went back for him and managed to save him. Even in the throes of Operator sickness, Tim lent Jay his pills and looked after him despite Jay's increased stubbornness and irritability.
Did it come from his time as Masky? I feel like this one's also questionable. Tim was experiencing memory loss and whatever else because of Operator sickness, he was dubiously consenting to his own actions. Him and Brian trying to kill Alex makes sense, he'd betrayed them, left them to die, and they thought he was the root of all this.
Was it a fanon interpretation like the twink Tim stuff? I was never into the Proxy side of things, I was more into TheKillerverse.
Canon MH Tim is SUCH a chill dude, there's almost something to be said about why he didn't beat Jay's ass and tell him to bug off earlier ð if anything his flaw was being too nice.
As for where the angry control freak thing is from, crp Masky and Hoodie are basically their own characters. Back in the day the creepypasta format was "spooky image with backstory attached to it" and that's how MH screenshots got circled around and became their own thing. People took frames and added their own stories, like, "this entity was seen in the house right before a Slenderman sighting" or "this person sacrifices people in the woods to Slenderman LOOK OUT" and stuff like that. Creepypasta Masky and Hoodie are basically just borrowing the designs and the Slenderman aspect and then it's a fanon free-for-all.
As such, people often do a Red Oni Blue Oni thing with them, usually (not always) with Hoodie as the calm detached one and Masky as the angry aggressive one. That does parallel canon if you squint a bit, however, I'm guessing it's sort of unintentional bc the default thing back in the day was to make Masky the leader (cooler design, more screentime) and Hoodie the follower, so Masky was written as more controlling and dominant. They're a duo so people want to give them contrast.
It's also just to make crp Masky scarier and fit in more w the rest of the creepypasta personalities, LOL. MH doesn't have much in common with creepypasta stuff writing wise. If you want to make the characters fit you gotta change em and make them creepier. Nothing really creepypasta protag vibes about a laidback short guy who works in construction, and even adding on "he blacks out sometimes and puts a mask on and scares Alex" isn't super genre fitting. Gotta make him an evil bloody serial killer :3 and 5'11 at least.
I remember the Red Oni Blue Oni dynamic back then. I've been dabbling in creepypasta for years, just as an on and off lurker, but I was never that tapped in to their characters. Honestly, I've always loved how flexible and creative the classic 'make a spooky backstory for this spooky image' was. Thinking the Russian Sleep Experiment was real is a canon event.
I remember last year, when I started getting back into creepypasta again and before I watched MH, scrolling Creepypasta.com and seeing a Hoodie origin story. I was like 'oh! That's that guy from the uhhh, in uhhhh' ....It was about a guy who buys a hoodie he really fucks with and he gets more confident wearing it, so he wears it everyday. It makes him so confident in fact that he beats a guy to death in broad daylight because the other guy was rude after stepping on his blue suede shoes or some shit ð.
Canon MH Tim in the crp universe either more grounded or comedic would go hard tho.
"Twas bleach âïļ"
"THAT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE"
There's a fic I've been reading called "Marked" by ChamberOfFlowers on Ao3. It's like a more grounded MH x Slendermansion thing. I think they do a good job of keeping Tim and Brian closer to their Canon portrayals. They're chill and act closer to MH but years of being proxies have weighed on them.

Y'all, I know we love Tim and Brian as proxies, I do too. It's tried and true, it's a classic.
Hear me out tho, Brian, Alex, Jay, and Skully (+ Jessica maybe) working together to kill The Operator while at each other's throats. They would not DARE drag Tim back into this hell hole.
Brian, Alex, Jay, Skully, and Jessica VS Kate the Chaser, Ticci Toby, X-Virus, Rouge, and Wilson the Basher
I think the anti-Operator group (Shut Down? We'll work on it) would be so entertainingly insufferable. Not even mentioning the drama concerning Seth, Sarah, Tim, or Amy.
Brian CAN'T STAND Alex, but has no real beef with Jay, he thinks Skully is weird as hell but tries to trust the process, and Jessica's chill/undetermined. Brian has the most exposure to the Operator and the most experience in working against him. He's willing to get his hands dirty and can be self sacrificial. He's clearly an observant, think before you act kinda guy, and a good detective from the TTA videos, though he's not infallible. Even in emotional moments he's able to weigh the pros and cons of his actions.
Alex has beef with Brian, Jay, and Jessica. Skully's the only reason he hasn't been killed twice. The way he went about his plans was batshit and he's annoying af (still like his character tho), but you can say that about Brian and Jay too. Plus, Alex was trying to do what he thought was best with the limited information he had. He's very driven but pretty drastic and he's allergic to communication. For a short time he was able to live a normal life again until Amy found the camera, so he and Jessica could probably fit in most easily with other people. Maybe Brian too? He didn't seem very active in public throughout the series, but I could see him being charismatic and amicable before filming.
Jay was harassed and stalked by Brian, betrayed and killed by Alex. Jessica's reliable and they already have some experience working together, Skully is a fucking thing that exists. Jay's too nosy, reckless, tunnel visioned, suspicious acting, and bad at communicating for someone who can't lie to save his life. He almost tanked Slender but his plot armor ran out ð. I think he'd appreciate the help and having support to fall back on, but he also became more stubborn, closed off, and irritable when Operator sickness started ramping up. If that stays, it could cause some extra problems with cooperation, especially since Alex already has those traits and Brian is imagining Alex's chalk outline.
Jessica was betrayed by Alex, Brian helped Tim kidnap her, though iirc he did try to help her before she was taken by the Operator. Jay's chill, maybe even friends and Skully's a confusing but trusted ally. She's observant, cautious but not cowardly, and willing to go through dangerous, sketchy situations to help her friends and allies. Something that can and has been taken advantage of. Due to not being too emotionally connected to the others, it gives her the chance to get to know them without TOO much bias, but it's also because she's lacking in context. She's a fast learner with good instincts though, and can make up the difference.
Everyone except Jessica and Skully is terrible at communicating and stubborn as a mule, but they understand cooperation when it's needed. Now that Skully's here we can actually get some direction and unity. He's got the most information and even if he's off-putting it's not to the point of counter-productive untrustworthiness. I'm not sure what this game plan would be, but I hope it's enough for a whole slew of proxies and whatever other serial killers are out there whom could get involved for any reason.

What if the Slendermansion was an old, possibly abandoned, YMCA building?
They're all brokies, even Slender. Affording a mansion my ass, I know he don't got no job. This is what he gets, spending all his money at Staples on some wack ass pages and charcoal.
And the ever elusive 'missions'? The creeps' sketchy part time jobs. They have to pay rent and it's all to fund Slenderman's stationary addiction.
HEAR ME OUT!! 2011 Jeff the Killer crossed with Don't look at me that way by Kikuo. It matches up unexpectedly well. During his transformation in the hospital and then when he kills his family. I couldn't stop thinking about it until I wrote it out.
The song's about a kid who dies in a horrific accident and his spirit trying to comfort his parents a few minutes after his death. I didn't include all the lyrics, but most of them. Long post incoming.
"Don't look at me with those eyes Mama, or I'll be embarrassed about dying. My milky white cheeks have blown away like popcorn. Don't look at me with those eyes Papa, or I'll feel ashamed about dying. The coming parade plucked my soul out with a pair of tweezers and threw me away. Melting with a drip drop, I wonder where I'm going?"
His mom's reaction when his bandages came off, when he cut his smile, how his dad probably reacted before dying and realizing his son was gone. Reinterpreted, this feels like Jeff's perspective while becoming Jeff the Killer and feeling the old him slip away. Which is interesting to me, because during and after the hospital we're no longer as close to Jeff's thoughts. It even lines up with Jeff reverting to childlike speech patterns during his 'new birth'.
I don't know if I'm the only one, but in the scene where his mom finds Jeff in the bathroom, he felt like a newborn gazelle learning how to walk. He seemed very out of it and a bit detached from reality. The serverity of the situation and how it looked to outsiders was overshadowed by his own euphoria/mental break down (depends on how you interpret it).
The similarities to Jeff's experience continue.
"Leaping through the sky, I get caught inside the teeth of a music box. The music box's trembling feels good, and I get minced and chopped up with a pop, pop. My body becomes small and I scatter around into pieces. My empty brains melt together into a large star."
Feels kinda like his burning and directly after it. Something mentioned in the comments under the song brings up that some times pain can be a delayed reaction. Or how Endorphins, the body's natural opioids, are released in large quantities during extreme stress or trauma, including during death. I saw a comment say that if the body receives damage it knows it can't survive it could make the person feel euphoric instead, but in a quick Google search, apart from the above sentence, I couldn't find an explicit confirmation of that.
"Shining like a rainbow, the final moments of my soul, like pudding and gummy candy, shatters and melts into nothingness. So, don't look at me with those eyes Mama, or I'll be embarrassed about dying. The cute little me who gave into the good feelings and threw myself away. Don't look at me with those eyes, Papa. Look away from the place where I died, because I'm ashamed for having felt so good while dying. Melting into white and drip drip dropping away..."
I feel like this one's more obvious, but I see it as the moment Jeff embraced or fell into insanity. From the hospital and forward, the last pieces of him have melted away and the boy the brought home was not the one they raised.
"For the first time, I became the wind, and my heart was broken by the wind. It felt so good, being shattered by the wind like that. Always going down, down that slope without an end, without a single trace of another person. The houses disappear, the power lines bend and sway, cut down by the wind, my body dissolves into red."
This could be Jeff being carried away on the highs of his mental breakdown and insanity. His mental health and stability on a downhil slope without an end. As he leaves the house after killing his family, then presumably their neighbors, he's soaked in blood, both his and their's.
"And then I was gone, with just my soul remaining along with my bicycle that never should've existed. Always and forever."
Maybe Jeff's old self in his final moments, accepting that he'll never be the same again and how everything went wrong after they moved? Slightly off topic, but the mention of a bicycle reminds me of the 2015 rewrite by Banning K.
"Don't look at me with those eyes Mama, because I'm no longer anywhere. Mama bought me so many toy cars and comic books. Don't look at me with those eyes Papa, it felt so good to disappear. Even though Papa made me a music box and toy soldiers. I'm no longer anywhere. My soul disappeared into the world of dreams. All of Mama's toys happily melted together into nothingness. I'm no longer anywhere. Until we meet again in our dreams, farewell. Papa's toy soldiers are waving from under the lid of a music box."
Jeff's parents always fascinate me, no matter what version of him. How did we get here? What combination of people and events lead to this? In the 2011 version they're neglectful but not uncaring, or atleast not completely or TOO obviously. There's just enough there and missing to where you'd be able to swing their competence as parents however you please in your own headcannons.
Margaret says Billy's party might be what he needs to lighten up after Liu's taken to Juvie, and she's right. He feels the best he has since that incident until Randy and gang show up. Of course that was also motivated by her wanting to socialize with other parents and the way she pushes Jeff into it isn't the most empathetic. It's not mentioned that either of them comforted Jeff after Liu was taken away, but there was a timeskip directly after his breakdown in the driveway, so it might've happened off screen and Margaret obviously thought about a way to help Jeff process it. Peter isn't given damn near any lines, he may as well be Margaret's purse dog, so I can't say much for him. However, they do seem to care about Jeff and Liu, just incompetently. Obviously, Margaret telling Peter to get the gun was crazy callous even if she's panicking, but she does seem like your average mother with strengths and weaknesses. She's definitely the more present of the two parents in the instances we see the family together, though Peter could be absent because of his job. It's not better, but it's a reason.
Assuming they had a normal life before the events of the story, it's safe to assume they had some happy and loving moments as a family. Comforting things that Jeff would reach for in his breakdown. Like in the moment he looked for reassurance from his mother that he was beautiful. His mind was new and fragile and he reached for her stability, had it for a moment when Margaret agreed, then had everything torn down when she tried to kill him. All the memories and love they had died with his sanity, and with no option to rebuild or fix their mistakes, that's all their left as, fading memories.
The verse also mentions dreams multiple times. What did Jeff say before killing his family? Go to Sleep. Where is the only place he can find his family and former self? In his dreams. "I'm no longer anywhere. Until we meet again in our dreams, farewell."

I like how Fear Me only calls Jeff 'Jeff', not once do we hear his last name or even hear him called Jeffrey. It's a nice piece of continuity between Fear Me and 2011 Jeff the Killer.
Say your making a masterlist and you try to link posts to it, but when you copy the post's link it gives you that super long one that takes you to the Tumblr website. This might be because you used a fancy font (ðĨðĒðĪð ððððð) while making the post.
To avoid this, make the post with regular Tumblr font (the arial font you see here). Then copy the link â> then edit the post to add your fancy font. This does NOT work if you make the post, go back and edit it with the font, then copy the link. It needs to be in the previous order.
Also, if you delete the side blog attatched to your account it deletes your main account too. Learned this the hard way...

Fear Me Jeff is genuinely my favorite interpretation of his character.
The balance between a sadistic deranged serial killer, an arrogant guy who never grew out of his edgy phase, someone capable of love and giving it to others, and how the mixture of all these points effects how they manifest is a tight rope that Fear Me struts like a supermodel.
