For this project my aim and what i pitched to the class was to make a performance piece for the poem Memories. my over all aim for this project was to work on my finish for the overall look.

This project gave me a few challenges the first ones where to find my dancer and who I found from going to Cardiff met as they have a dance course there. and I Ask Manon from Music Tec to do the music for this project. I had a little trouble finding someone to do the voice over but i ask Alice Who kindly said yes.

Going in the studio was my next task as the lighting that I wanted for this was meant to be quite shadowy as in my research a lot of dance photography/films had that lighting. I booked the studio to do test before the dancer came, I really wanted to make sure that i was going to go in to the studio confidently and not waste time for the dancer or her to feel like i was unorganised. but after my second test in the studio with help from Jason i really got the the lighting i was going for with the green lit nicely. 

Key light wasn’t too bad after but i think i didn’t really think about how the final look my video would be until i got the music which i got a sample of just in time for filming my dancer so she could hear what the sound was going to be like. But what i originally had plained with the ink and other things in my story bored was too much and i really wanted the final to have a seemly look. 

I over all feel like I have answered my brief and made a project that look good as well as have a good concept with the voice over and music bring the piece together. I felt that i was really organised throughout this project and working with other people such and the Dancer and the Music made me work harder as i didn’t want to let anyone down. 

From my story bored i knew I wanted the title ‘Memories’ the name of the poem for the closing shot.

Chris helped with the text and gave me a font that he had that would work well with this. Quite a delicate font with strong lines that elongates on the end which gives it its delicate look.

I tried to use the smoke that i had filmed in a luma matte under the text but because i filmed smoke that mostly formed single lines you couldn’t really see the title as a whole. so chris also had stock footage of smoke that i could use for this, which really helped you could see the title a lot cleaver for longer. 

I am really happy with my footage now that it has been de-noised. my footage keys out really well.  when i had my talk with Chris he talk through colour correcting my image in to the back back ground.

After Keying my footage i had the key like on intermediate result so that i could keep as much of the footages details as possible. which is what is in the 3rd picture with the hair slightly being green.

I then used the hue and situation focusing on just the greens till the green hair matched the rest of the hair.
