but the way I see it, it takes more time than 5 years. in this AU Dunk and Egg still travel all over the world, in this way it’s quite close to canon. in between those travels they return to Storm’s End several times, ofc, and stay there until they’re ready to continue their travels but for Dunk this responsibility he’d taken over Egg is very serious. from 209 to 216 he is not yet ready to settle in Storm’s End for good as a married man. I think Lyonel respects it (albeit with eternal cries, screams and weepings) and waits for him to come back every time with lots of love in his heart, while carrying his duties as Lord Paramount.

Dunk and Egg part ways somewhere in 216 when Egg is 16-17 and they feel it’s time for both of them to return to their families. the two of them still remain close and in those times the bond between house Tragaryen and house Baratheon is strong (like for example they join forces during Blackfyre rebellions and Dunk is always ready to aid help whenever Egg needs it). somewhere in 218-219 Lyonel and Dunk have their first child, when both feel they’re truly ready for this particular step. the pregnancy goes rather easy for Dunk (like duh, man is taken care of like the most precious thing of all the realms, it’s Lyonel’s dream come true at last and he won’t miss a damn second) and it’s a girl and Dunk names her Rafe. she has the most wonderful blue eyes and the wildest dark curls imaginable. for the next couple of years both of them dedicate most of their time to her (and maybe even a bit too much time, thank you Lyonel, now she’s spoiled). Lyonel calls her his hier (would she choose to take this path in her life) and threatens violence to anyone who dares to disagree. the girl is like a hurricane herself, she picked a sword in her hands the moment she learned how to hold objects (and never put the sword back down since). Lyonel teaches her the ways of the sea and ships and she falls in love with that as well. she dreams of far places one can only reach with the bravest heart and sturdiest ships and her dads agree to help her make every her dream come true.

at this point I’m still here thinking about the wild hurricane that is Rafe Baratheon and haven’t moved on to think about any other children… although I’m pretty positive she wouldn’t be the only one (I’m no blind man and I’ve seen Dunk. you can’t simply make him pregnant Just One Time. and knowing Lyonel… well). No need to say, in this AU Lyonel’s rebellion doesn’t happen. the relationships between the two houses are strong and betrothal arrangements go without a problem. although I’m still pondering the exact connection, it’s clear one of Dunk’s children would be married to one of Egg’s
