My family had a dachshund for 10 years-he was very healthy, and just absolutely lovely in every way. Then one day he slipped a disc in his spine and we had him put down a week later, and even though that was 4 years ago I to this day am so damn angry that people bred dachshunds to have those stupid spines. He wasn’t allowed to walk up or down stairs, we barely ever picked him up, and yet his spine just suddenly one day went, and it was so unfair for me to lose my childhood pet that way honestly

I totally understand, and I am so sorry to hear about a loss of such a beloved animal. Dachshunds, Frenchies, pugs--all are being bred in this absolutely terrible ways that compromise their health and welfare.

That new grad bad luck so far:

- Stomach tubing a calf with a specialised foal feeding tube only for the end of it to fall off inside the calf.

- Opening the abdomen of a cryptorchid dog after not being able to palpate the testicle only to figure out the testicle is approximately 5 cm from the scrotum.

- Having my own kitten be the only cat in town that eats chocolate on the night that I am on call. And consequently having the emetic knock her flat instead of making her vomit.

Hi sorry everyone for my lack of presence!! I have some excellent news though...I PASSED MY FIRST YEAR EXAMS!!!! 🍾🎊🎉 going into them I had the mindset of “okay just pass, that’s all you need”. But I got my exam scores back and I did WAY better than I had anticipated!! I’m so relieved, honestly! Now this summer I will be working at my local vet clinic, starting my clinical EMS.

Vet Ranch is probably the best thing that has happened to me. I’ve watched almost all their videos time and again. Their channel basically features different veterinary cases. I’ve learned SOOO much from just watching it. I definitely definitely definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of a career in veterinary medicine.

I finished my first year of vet school!!!! I’m now 1/5th a veterinary surgeon!!!!
