Ok but what if Cisco and Harry ended up on another Earth where Harrison Wells and Tess Morgan are still happily running Star Labs??  Like Cisco gets possibly kidnapped by villains(!) from that Earth and Harry of course figures out how to follow him, and first thing he goes to Star Labs to talk to this Earth’s him (always Harry’s preferred move… talk to another Wells) and is like ouch wasn’t expecting the doppelganger of my dead beloved wife, that hurts, also where’s Cisco I need to find him.  

Harry needs their help to rescue Cisco but he’s trying not to engage too much with this Tess because he knows she’s not actually his wife.  But it’s so painful because she’s the spitting image of his Tess with the same personality and smarts and even wears the same perfume. He never fully processed the loss of his Tess - when she died he threw himself into his work and taking care of Jesse and then defeating Zoom. He’s got budding feelings for Cisco but has been held back by guilt and grief, and the sight of this Tess is making it worse.  Basically it’s an emotional clusterfuck and Harry is suppressing that shit like no one’s business.

Harry starts protecting Cisco from afar - tipping off police and security personnel, creating other faux threats that juice up security and change Cisco’s schedule so that Zolomon can’t plan or execute his hit.  Zolomon is furious.  He continues to pursue the mark and Harry has to watch Cisco more closely to protect him.  During his constant surveillance he notices that Cisco is brilliant, kind, and good at his job.  It’s a shame there’s a hit out on him.

Zolomon is getting more and more determined.  He arranges a trap for Cisco by setting up a false meeting with one of his colleagues.  Harry finds out too late to tip off security, and in desperation he kidnaps Cisco en route to the meeting. Cisco’s scared but full of bravery and sass and he’s downright offended when Harry explains the situation.

“Oh my god, you’re saving my life because you’re a petty asshole?!”

“…Would you rather I let you die?”
