The 88th night of spring is a traditional date for farmers that signifies the end of winter's frost. It's considered an auspicious date due to the number being lucky, and is the date that begins harvest of the first flush of green tea.

First Flush Matcha Cookie

The first steps outside the crumbled castle felt fraught with uncertainty. All Matcha had known were its shadowy confines, the murky sewers she'd lurked within. Now she felt warm sunlight soaking her skin, the breeze in her hair, new experiences. Butter Roll offers his steadfast companionship every step of the way. With it, the icy desperation in her heart melted and the bitterness in her leaves receded. Her hair carries the delicate fragrance of green tea blossoms, turning heads wherever she goes. Matcha is free, and the world is hers to walk. With her strength in spring's zenith and a dose of sweet poison in her seeds, nowhere is off-limits.
