“Seeya mum!” Richard called out the front door as his mum walked down the path, turning back around and looking into the house with squinted eyes, thinking. The builder was due to come today for the new bathrooms. The same builder from the other day, who had fucked up his bike and then repaired it. The one with the scar across his nose and the stupid, handsome broad shoulders.
The one that had occupied his dreams for the past nights, the dreams Richard had been so badly wanting to ignore. He shoved the thoughts from his mind, deciding he was just going to ignore it all and stay in his room the whole time until the man left.
versiontwc:
Richard narrowed his eyes back at Gavin, crossing his arms over his chest and following the man where he walked to see how ruined his bike was. Furiously hating himself due to how much he liked the stubble on this mans cheeks and his messy hair shoved to the side of his forehead, hands dirty and shirt shoved half-heartedly into his scruffy pants.
“I didn’t know there was an asshole going to be pulling out of my garage.” Richard shot back, shoving his hands in his jeans and looking up at Gavin again. “I’ll make sure mum knows about this.” He muttered under his breath, glancing up and down Gavin once more before turning and walking off.
“W-Wait!” Gavin called after the kid, reaching over to grab him by the upper arm so he couldn’t go anywhere. “Jesus just– fuck, don’t tell your mom okay?” The last thing he needed was a lost client. Business hadn’t been too great since his dad passed away and right now he needed every job he could get. “I can fix your bike up for you and get it back in no time, it’ll be good as new! It doesn’t look that bad-” He gestured back to the bike and paused for a moment, just in time to watch one of the handlebars pop right off and land on the cement with a CLANK! “I– I mean….. it could be worse, right?”
Richards face scrunched up in what he hoped looked like disgust as his arm was grabbed, tugging himself away from Gavin and sneering at him, "New bike. Tomorrow, or else mums gonna know about this little - chat." Richard said back, hating to admit he missed the feel of Gavin's hand grabbing his arm, fantasising breifly about what it might be like to be shoved back against the fence and pushed down- or even better if he was the one shoving Mr. Home Renovator up against the wall, an arm curled around his waist while his hands fisted in the back of his hair-..
versiontwc:
Richard swore low in his throat as he watched his bike being trampled over, halfway through jogging over to the idiot in the van to warn him he was about to do so- but it was too late. Fucking renovation fucks, low class wannabes.
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, tousling it up more then it had already been walking home, brows slanting downwards as he walked over more purposefully - aiming to give the dumbass in the car a piece of his mind. It had been a shit day, fueling Richards frustration in the moment. The customers today at the chemist he had to talk to were driving him insane, not to mention his colleagues, especially one man in particular who was always trying to ask him out for drinks- he didn’t want drinks, he was eighteen and he wasn’t gay.
Wasn’t gay.
Definitely was not gay as he stopped beside the car door, peering in through the window and seeing the most handsome– No.
His breath felt sucked away from his lungs and his mouth was dry. Richard took another step backwards, fighting the urge to look and trying to keep the stern expression on his face.
“You knocked over my bike, dickhead. You better pay for a replacement.”
Gavin jumped as some kid suddenly appeared next to his car. “Well damn kid, maybe don’t park it in the middle of the fucking driveway.” He could hear his dad in the back of his mind, yelling at him to be nice to the kid because he was probably the client’s. But fuck his dad, this brat was being a little fuck and Gavin wasn’t going to bend over for him just because mommy and daddy had some money.
He pushed open his car door and stepped out of the truck, slamming it behind him before he walked to the back of his truck. On the cement next to his back tire was the bike in question. And it was practically dented in half. “Jesus Christ, just great.” Knowing his luck it was some name brand super bike that was worth more than his fucking car.

Gavin grunted as he hoisted his large duffel bag into the back of his pickup truck, a large logo: ‘Reed Renovations’ plastered across both sides of his truck. Gavin’s dad had started the company back in the early 2000′s from absolutely nothing, but after his passing two years ago Gavin took over. He’d always planned this path for himself, it only seemed natural, so that’s why he stood in front of some hoity toity rich family’s mansion. The wife, a woman who looked like she was trying way too hard to appear 30 years younger than she was, wanted her master bathroom completely redone. She had been pretty terrible to talk to, swishing her wine glass from side to side as she described everything she hated about their current bathroom. To Gavin, it looked fine. The bath had been replaced very recently and there weren’t any problems with the pluming. But, that’s how the rich folks operated, and if it signed Gavin’s paychecks he wasn’t about to complain.
He had spent the better part of an hour measuring the bathroom and taking notes, it wouldn’t be until next week that he could come back and gut the place and actually get started. So he was calling it a day.
Gavin slammed the door of his truck and put it in reverse to pull out of the driveway, but before he could do that-
BANG!
He jolted forwards as his truck hit something very solid. “Fucking great.” Gavin cursed under his breath.
Richard swore low in his throat as he watched his bike being trampled over, halfway through jogging over to the idiot in the van to warn him he was about to do so- but it was too late. Fucking renovation fucks, low class wannabes.

inktober #1: poisonous
“Well that went better than I thought it would.”
“Can you leave now?”
“I thought you’d be gone by now?”
“… We didn’t, did we?!”
“Yikes, this is awkward.”
“Morning.”
“What time is it?”
“Don’t you have work?”
“Don’t you have class?”
“Hungry?”
“What the fuck is that?”
“Don’t you have somewhere to be? That isn’t here?”
“Who are you?”
“Is now a bad time to ask your name?”
“Did we at least use a condom?”
“That’s kind of something you’re suppose to tell someone before you have sex with them.”
“Can you uncuff me?”
“I think we’re snowed in.”
“That’s not usually how this goes.”
“You talk a lot in your sleep.”
“Is that chocolate?”
“I didn’t snore, did I?”
“Don’t forget this. I don’t need a memento.”
“So… I have something to tell you.”
“Round two?”
But what if the stray cat Gavin feeds in the alleyway behind his house were as relentlessly and as pointlessLY TALKATIVE AS MY FUCKING CAT
You thought you were reading a comic about Gavin Reed but really it’s a comic about my cat. I’ve made you read a comic about my cat. I’m aware that I have probably socialized him into being talkative, but… that doesn’t mean I won’t complain about it
a lil something i drew when me and @banana-ge-ge were discussing these boys
Gavin’s voice sent the most stupid butterflies into Richard’s stomach, making his heart throb in his chest and a different kind of smile twitch at his lips. He knew what it meant, of course, he had always known what it meant, even when they were ten years old playing around in the trees, Gavin calling out Richards nickname in the most fond voice ‘Richie!’
- it didn’t mean Richard had ever played on the idea. Or even entertained it.
He had other things to do, like look after his younger brother and secure his future. Give him what Richard himself couldn’t have.
“You are doing it.” Richard answered for him, “I need you to come into school and have a talk with my 4th graders about becoming a detective. For careers day.” He said into the phone, going back to stirring with the phone placed between his ear and shoulder, walking towards the back door and pushing it open- stepping out into the sunlight.
“In a weeks time, at my school. We have a firefighter coming in, along with a doctor and scientist. They needed a police officer and I thought- who better fits the role of lazy, donut eating asshat.”
Richie’s smile prickled at his lips even more, taking a seat on one of the outside chairs as he continued to stir the cake.
“I’m currently making a cake. If you want to come round and eat it, it can be your ‘thank you’ gift.”

@blackcoffeefumes
Mobile phone nestled between his ear and shoulder while he held a larger bowl full of ingrediants in his arms, stirring it as he talked away on his mobile to his childhood friend, Gavin Reed. They had known each other since they were young, Gavin sometimes coming over to help Richard babysit Connor when their foster mum was out. He smiled in fondness of the memories, heart doing a small jump in his heart the longer he thought of the days he and Gavin spent sunbaking together, finding secret hide away’s in the forest near their house and going swimming together on the hot summer days.
It was another sunny day today, warm enough for the man to (not that anyone had ever seen him do it, not for the past 10 or so years) wear shorts and a button up shirt, the sleeves folded up to rest at his elbows.
“Gavin, I have a favour to ask from you.” Richard said into the phone, placing the bowl on the counter and taking the phone in his hand- reaching around the cupboards to find more ingredients and empty them into the mix.
It was only really warm, summer days like this that brought out his enjoyment for cooking. Not that he had anyone to cook for apart from himself, his younger brother Connor away at collage.
As the door is pulled open, showing a Gavin Reed standing there- half pulled together with hair sticking up and jacket sliding off his shoulders- RK900 couldn't help the tinge of amusement that spread through his body. He couldn't help but feel that Gavin Reed was.. cute. Like a disheveled cat being woken up during a deep sleep.
It made him almost want to reach out and pat his hair down, wipe the sleep from his eyes. To be affectionate? Was he supposed to even feel affection for other people?
Gavin's tired voice pulled him out his trance and he straightened his shoulders back out, eyes going back to Reeds face,
"we have a new job, a stake out. It came in at 4:36am exactly. I was sent to retrieve you and head to the destination, I'll explain more on the way." He informed Gavin, taking one more look up and down him before pulling away, unsure how he felt about feelings (the RK800 at the station, 'connor' had tried to talk to him about them before, to no avail).
He kept walking, waiting for the footsteps behind him, a blue side mission popping up in his side view that was;
[get Gavin Reed coffee]
@addicktcop
RK900 is at Gavin Reed’s door at 6am that morning, banging his fist on the wood, face blank but eyes scanning everything. He could hear the fumbling of the man on the other side trying to wake up, the crashing of something, the swearing that came next.
Yet he waited, emotionless, expressionless, for the detective to get to the door.

RK900 followed him, cocking his head to the side as he walked, scanning Reed again- maybe there were other issues upsetting him today? “Could I perhaps suggest a healthier alternative to coffee, Reed?” He asked, placing a hand on Gavin’s shoulder- eyes.. caring? No, never.
Merely looking after his partner so he wouldn’t pass out half way through a mission and RK900 wouldn’t have to carry their body back to the station.

@hisangcr
“You look exhausted today.” RK900 noted, walking up to Gavin’s desk, eyes blankly running up and down his figure before coming to a rest on his face, noticing the bags under his eyes and the unhappy sneer his mouth was pulled into.
“Have you had your morning coffee yet?”
@dctective-reed
He stalked into the bar, ignoring the insults thrown at him as he headed over to Reed, eyes narrowed in annoyance at finding the man he was supposed to call his ‘partner,’ here again. He stopped at where Reed was sitting, hardly giving him enough time to talk before his hand shot out to grip at Gavin’s face, forcing them to make eye contact.
“I’m taking you back to the office, detective Reed.” Richard said slowly, letting go of his face and instead latching his hand to Gavins arm, pulling him up from the bar stool roughly and tugging him away. “We have a case to solve, Detective, unless you had forgotten?” He hissed, tugging him outside then, very forcefully, slamming Gavin against the wall and reaching up to grab the man’s cigerette, pulling it from his lips and flicking it onto the ground, stepping on it with his heel and grinding it into the concrete, all the while staring at the man he had pinned against a wall.
“You call yourself an officer?” He asked, “smelling of alcohol and sitting at the back of the bar?” RK900 scoffed, giving him another shove against the wall before stepping away.
“Get into the car.”
