alright i just finished hollywood and i wanna say fuck it i loved it. sure it’s naive, unrealistic and completely on the nose but SOMETIMES i just want to watch something hopeful and happy. SOMETIMES i just want to watch people help each other achieve success without asking for anything back. SOMETIMES i just want to be reminded that there was an opportunity for our world to be a lot kinder and it’s nice to imagine that as a reality, even just for a 7 part netflix miniseries. 

i love that a core message of netflix's hollywood is showing how important it is for minorities to be given hope through media. and not only did this show rewrite that time period to give the people back then hope, which is powerful in itself; this show is that hopeful piece of media for us now!!! because to this day we still haven't gotten anything quite as high quality, optimistic, and blatantly supportive of representation as this. standing ovation!!!

Give Patti LuPone an Emmy for Hollywood, honestly. She rocks every one of her scenes.

THE ENDING OF HOLLYWOOD HAS ME UGLY SOBBING THOUGH. HAVING SCENES OF THE ASIAN AND BLACK FAMILIES LISTENING TO THE CEREMONY AT HOME AND HEARING THAT ANNA MAY WONG, ARCHIE, AND CAMILLE ALL WON. THAT IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT. TELLING THE STORIES THAT MATTER TO UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS WHETHER BIT OR SMALL. THEY MADE HISTORY AND FOLLOWED THEIR DREAMS AND IT PAID OFF AND THIS JUST SHOWED HOW SPECIAL AND IMPORTANT REPRESENTATION TRULY IS. THIS WAS SUCH A MASTERPIECE OF A SHOW. ITS NOT PERFECT BUT THIS REWRITE OF HISTORY WAS SO ENJOYABLE TO WATCH FOR ME. UGH IT FILLS ME WITH PRIDE TBH THIS WHOLE CAST WAS BEYOND INCREDIBLE. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY AND STORY TELLING WERE AMAZING. A PERIOD PIECE THAT IS STILL SO RELEVANT IN THESE TIMES. BRAVO
