How in the world did you do the troll voice? It sounds amazing and made me cackle so hard!
Author here breaking out of character, I'd planned to stop updating the blog as you can probably tell, but I'm so proud of that crack audio and video and so I'm jumping at the chance to talk about it.
SIDE NOTE: Genuinely thank you all for the love and support these past couple of months. This blog was supposed to be a dumb Christmas prank and it ended up evolving into so much more. I won't be coming off anon any time soon but just know that every one of you made me so happy with your interactions.
BACK ON TOPIC: Long story short, a voice modulation platform made it possible, link and parameters below the cut in case you want to play around.
The steps were:
Record standalone vocal
Put vocal through voice modulation (I used voicechanger.io)
Overlay instrumental track (I used Audacity as my audio software, it's free!)
Change the pitch of the instrumental track so that it matches the altered vocal
Add basic reverb, equalization, fix the timing, boost treble, etcetc
Add bar ambiance noises (I used this)
Export audio and send it to your friends so you can all also laugh together (important)
I attempted this in a few keys and found that lowering the pitch of the song vastly improves how the final product sounds like. Posting 2 samples I did before recording it properly, also below the cut!
I'm sorry this turned out so long, I'm really glad you liked and I hope this post gives you some fun insights π
XOXO, your fellow Vernon Roche Fan
