Productive Ways to Fill Your Spare Time 👩🎓👨🎓
I've been seeing these threads around a lot but none of them are truly efficient in encouraging a cultivated mind. Here are some chill and exciting ways to do so!
Explore educative channels and videos on YouTube and write down research questions. (this can even work for tv shows! I went down a rabbit hole with music and cognitive development by watching Stranger Things S4 😲)
Search science and math games on the appstore, find one you like and challenge yourself everyday. (I use quite a few; Beaker, Periodic Table the Game, Atomas, 4=10, Sudoku Quest, Seterra, Branches of Power, and many more!)
Learn a language! Studies have shown the brain becomes more capable of learning quicker when an individual knows a second and third language. (If you already speak two languages because you grew up with them, try picking up a third one now that you've become fluent🥳)
Get into writing and do it daily, 10-20 minutes a day with handwriting. This will improve your memory for grammar and you'll find your creativity for storytelling improve! Especially if you're reading a chapter a day or two chapters every other day. (The books you read will also form what your writing style becomes, I like reading classic lit a lot but also thriller/true crime fiction-newer stuff)
Heard of culinary fusion? Do this but with your favourite or necessary subjects. The goal is to utilize your left and right cognitive functions! (Art+Science, Music+Mathematics, Exercise+Literature; these are some combinations I've used that I quite enjoy and have seen significant progress in my studies and cognitive development)
Don't underestimate the power of therapeutics! CBT therapy, meditation, journals/diaries, and other ways to soothe and heal your mind can give you the upper hand in expanding your ability to become smarter. (Your killing two birds with one stone here! Art therapy, which focuses on expressing internal conflict and trauma, is a perfect example of how therapy can be fun. Unclutter the mind, mend the networks, train your brain, fight for success 🏆💪)
