“at the beginning of time, I was lonely. I craved the company of others like forbidden fruit. I lived in the high, dreary solitude of mountains the rivers and lakes were my playmates, the trees and flowers, my only friends. but beings without speech can only interest you for so long. so I created the humans in my image with thought and speech and free will. I set iron and salt pounding through their veins I cracked open stars and galaxies to pour their wonder and magic into being and finally, I gave them hearts to love themselves and myself and others too. what is a millennia to a goddess? eternity is but a blink of an eye to us. and yet an eternity I have spent, tortured and suffering on earth’s surface heartbeats broken by my children’s savage blows their hatred for each other cutting deep, bloody wounds in the flesh and sinew of my heart. I gave them hands not to wield weapons not to create monsters through torture not to spread hatred and death not to kill or to harm each other. I gave them eyes to wonder at beauty, to see the goodness and divinity in everyday things. two millenniums have I wept, and walked around this sad excuse that my creations have called humanity. I have returned to my refuge in the mountains to the quiet and peace of nature around till the heavens hear my plea and send down lightning bolts, to destroy my creations once and for all.”
