hank hill is clearly a simple, ignorant man with no real passions to speak of and fairly lacking social skills, but the show doesn’t only depict him as an alright guy, but makes it clear that he’s actually a surprisingly empathetic and gentle person with an admirable will and strong moral compass, who grew up in a bad environment and just doesn’t understand much about the world outside of his own experiences in a small southern town, because how could he?
