Everything from the preshow, to the stage, to the models standing on a platform reminiscent of sculpture pedestals scream antique art. Even the deconstruction shown in some of the pieces helps to illustrate that painterly touch. This show by far is one of the most bold and imaginative about its theme, it feel like an experience rather than simply another show.

While I did have to dig around for this concept after I read it it was a real ‘ah-ha’ light bulb moment. Once this collection is understood it’s extremely strong, and cohesive. Especially since the most descriptive pieces went first and slowly open to those whimsical sheer and open garments at the very end.

The pieces are good by themselves but put together in this manner makes the theme feel muddy and rushed. As if there were not enough post-apocalyptic or tech pieces to really wrap the theme. But then again that’s just my opinion.

Stella Jean's Fall/Winter 2018 Milan Fashion week collection is a very interesting one. Based on racing culture of all kinds models carry out flags, some where racing numbers often seen on Olympic runners and some in track suits reminiscent of NASCAR drivers. While the runway stage dose not do anything for the theme of the collection I do believe that the iconography used throughout the collections helps to illustrate the racing idea, especially with most if not all models wearing chunky sneakers ready to take off at any moment.

As a collection I can’t comment much on it as I do not have a lot of vintage Versace knowledge but the use of the Versace logo definitely helps a first timer like myself understand what’s going on.

As a collection the theme fits well, mixing LGBT+ iconography with 80’s and 90’s inspired fashion. It was a celebration commending the retirement of the designer and embracing all forms of love.

However when it came to the garnments and styling itself little gives off ‘corporate’ or ‘female work attire’. A lot of the comparisons made to this show are that of the Matrix or similar movies of the such with this collections use of leathers and smaller glasses. Though the use of blazers, kitten heels, and even the infusion of athletic wear at least help to give a little ‘corporate’ to this otherwise futuristic feeling show.

Thierry Mugler's Winter of Angels was held in the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France in 1984. With over 6,000 public attendance this is hailed as one of Mugler's most iconic shows.

Broadway suit was held in Paris in 1978 and was inspired by George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess an American Opera, the first of it's kind.

Alexander McQueen's 2006 Ready to wear fall/winter collection was showcased March 3rd 2006 during Paris Fashion week at the Hôtel de Ville The collection was a collaboration between Alexander McQueen and frequent collaborator Philip Treacy to revisit the designers Scottish roots. The show was closed out by famous model Kate Moss.

This show took place during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on July 12th held in the Dior fashion house. Notable models for this show were, Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Hedvig Marie Maigre, and many more.

Vivienne Westwood's Fall/Winter 1998-1999 Runway show was held in Paris at the Hôtel de Crillon during Paris Fashion week that year. This was also the year that her famous 33k Silk-Taffeta Gown walked the runway which would become one of her favorite pieces. John Galliano of Christian Dior was also reported in attendance at the show.
