Say no to stereotypes, be happy everyday! [x]
Cant reblog this enough
I love that this shows both sides, how society is ingrained to see women as baby-makers and men as walking wallets whoâs only worth is if they make good cash. Both are equally demeaning and limiting in different ways.Â

The Awkward Yeti
Death offers a game for your life. You decide on D&D.
âI assume youâve never played?â I asked. The cloaked figure across from me shook their head slowly. âGreat,â I said. âIâll be the DM. Iâll walk you through everything. First, character creation.â Six hours later Death sat leaned over the table with a mountain dew in one hand and a D20 in the other. Their hood was thrown back to reveal a bleached grinning skull. We were in the company of four infernals from the depths of the Abyss. I donât remember which of us invited each of them. Turned out we had quite a few friends in common. They rolled a one. âOohh, tough luck,â I said with a smile. âFuck. This is the best time Iâve had in centuries, but I really should get back to work,â they said reluctantly. âYeahâŠâ One of the demons agreed. âI actually have a meeting with some senators in like an hour.â âSame time next week?â Death asked. âIâll be here,â I agreed. I suspected they knew before we started that this was a game that didnât have to have an end and didnât have a winner.
Just a little random inspiration.

For those who donât know, this xkcd strip was done as a memorial when Gary Gygax died.
They came back the next week, and the week after that. After a month of weekly sessions, Death pulled me aside.
âHey,â he muttered, shuffling his skeletal feet a bit and rubbing his arm. âI donât want to be That Guy, but this game does have an end, right? Iâm having a blast, but this is still technically work for me, and I have to file reports, especially with all the loopholes I had to pull on to get a multi-session game approved in the first place.â
âOh, yeah, for sure!â I told him. âThereâs lots of ways for it to end. âYour characters could all die, we could finish the story weâre telling together, or our group could even just stop playing.â
Satisfied, he took his place at the table, but for months thereafter, he would cock his head at me every time I ended a session with excitement to play again. All I could do was shrug.
The weeks turned into months, turned into years, and Death stopped his reminders that our game, like everything else in the world, would eventually have to die. He told me, once, that he was determined to see this through to the end because my absurdly long game would make for a good story, but I think he had grown attached to his gnome cleric. Her magic was from the Life domain, and his grin always seemed just a touch wider every time he healed someone.
Half a decade after we began, my players were as seasoned as their level 20 characters, and I was running out of curveballs that would challenge them, so I wrote an end to the campaign. I spent months on it, carefully tying up every loose plot thread I could think of and giving all five members of the party the best resolution I could muster. Three of them got married to each other.
There were tears flowing from every eye that wasnât an empty socket as I narrated their proverbial rides into the sunset, before finally I folded my screen, looked at each of them in turn, and said âThe end. Death, you can take my soul now.â
He froze, and the demons around the table turned as one to stare at him.
Then, slowly, he cocked his head the same way he used to. âBut you won,â he said. âThe object of the game is to tell a story with your friends, and you did.â
âBut so did you!â I cried! âAnd everyone knows that when Death wins a game, he gets your soul.â
Deathâs grin spread wider than it ever had when he saved someoneâs life in-game. âDidnât you just finish pouring it into a game that you shared with me?â

SANTA CRUZ, CAâCarefully inspecting the rows in hopes of deciphering the right configuration among thousands, local woman Mary Molatino was reportedly rearranging the condiments in her refrigerator door Friday like she was working on a puzzle in an ancient tomb. The 26-year-old, as if sorting glyphs to reveal the mysterious pattern that would unlock a pharaohâs burial chamber, began by twisting a bottle of salad dressing edgewise and sliding it against the light mayonnaise, a maneuver that left room for the newly purchased jar of cornichons and, if her hunch was correct, the Sriracha sauce. According to sources, Molatino then paused to consider the difficult task that still lay before her, in the manner of a seasoned archaeologist keenly aware that the crypt of a king would not easily yield to the desecration of a trespasser. Leaving the large butter dish undisturbed as though it were a chalice honoring the sun god Ra that could trigger a booby trap if tampered with, Molatino swapped a squeeze bottle of ketchup with a container of almond milk, at which point it dawned on her that everything would fit into place if she slightly tilted the wine bottle, stacked the jam jars, and then delicately wedged the olive jar between the Vitamin Waters and the edge of the shelf. At press time, brimming with the satisfaction one might have at being the first to solve a 5,000-year-old riddle, Molatino suddenly heard an unearthly rumble from the ice machine.
